Did anyone simply try 0000 - default password for most BT devices that need a password and haven't changed it.

You did it wrong, i think. You must have a Bluetooth-enabled device that's turned on and "visable", which i think means is open to any stray communication.

Mine is both on and visible - and while near the booth, I even made it search for new devices. However, I was searching for hands-free devices - next time I'm near the booth, I'll try searching for PCs instead.

ETA: Now having read the entire thread, I'll try both hands-free and PC devices when I go back down there later today.

That's pretty interesting - yesterday, I was told by one of the Dharma recruiters that if I found another Dharma recruiter walking around "outside" the Con and gave her the keyword "Jupiter", I could get a VIP pass to the test (i.e. not have to sign up for an appointment). Sadly, I did not find her yesterday, and when I *did* find some today, they said all the passes had been given out.

It seems that they (the Comic-Con people) have configured the Bluetooth wrong. Hopefully, they will fix it.

EDIT: (July 25th 8:43pm EST) Good news! It seems that someone finally got the Bluetooth to work. The video should be uploaded to the internet soon. According to reports, it's a "hacked" version of the video on the outside of the DHARMA booth (i posted that video earlier).

The Bluetooth video (low-quailty version)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5_o9p4W1C4&

This is an extremely low quailty version of the video. It has no sound, just the video. As we can see, it's a hacked version of the Booth video. Hopefully, we'll get a higher quailty video soon.

This is what I got out of the video. Ordered by appearance.
1.drops of blood dripping down
2.The prow end of a shipwreck on the water (ship looks cut in two)
3.4 spines with hips attached
4.garbled text image, looks to be "...HT WO...'' (lead-in to #3)
5."What would you sacrifice to stay alive?"
6."What makes you angry?"
7.dunno- a pigs foot, malformed carrot? slightly disturbing though
8.dunno- Callisto test photo of "A picture of a single lane road in the dark woods."?
9.dunno- people with raised fists or a scenery shot?
10."Why does the female Black Widow spider eat the male after mating?"
11.The 4 spines again (right profile, front, back, left profile)
12.Who is your constant?
13.dunno- Amalthea test photo of "Little Red Riding Hood in bed with the wolf"?

Not sure on all of these, the video is not the best. But I think I got most of what's buried in there. Let me know what you all think...

EDiT: a few screencaps of the 'hacked' video up here http://lostoctagonglobalrecruiting.blogspot.com/2008/07/screencaps-from-dharma-bluetooth.html

Do we anticipate a full screen good resolution one to sift through?

Weird....I see electric guitars instead of spines and hips. Is it just me?

No it's not just you, a friend of mine was like "You sure they are spines? Cause I see guitars." Wink
Here you can find one of the screencaps that were upped to dUFO http://bp3.blogger.com/_DYqiJ6Fbnp8/SIq19FPPFEI/AAAAAAAAA0I/UwXllVuG0r4/s1600-h/spines.jpg it is a bit low quality but you should be able to make out the spines.

Yes, it's is only a matter of time before a high quality version is uploaded.

I can see both spines and guitars. I don't think that was their intention though. They are definitely supposed to look like spines attached to pelvic bones.

Any word on whether or not people are recieving specific job titles after the take the test or are they not telling people anything? Just wondering.
