Using a bit of unsupported imagination-

The Leader Board is for the 10 highest ranked participants for each test. My Progress is an accumulated total of your scores on each test. It's not a huge leap to assume that eventually they'll be winners. Possibly even 10 of them.

Spec- Seeing as this is more like an activity or promotion than an ARG, I'd guess that the prize could be something like a trip to see Lost filmed on location or some such. When you get there you get an ID Card that already has your avatar pic on it. It's a stretch but if so (you'd probably get to keep the card), it's already time to put some thought into what pic you'd want to have on your extremely rare Dharma Initiative ID Card.

Hey that comic con video, is that happening in ben's house?

As in Ben's house on the island?

I don't recall the couch or the bookcase in his house, but I guess it could be anywhere on the island.

Although, it seemed as if his wife and child were with him, so I doubt it. Unless they lived on the island as well, 30 years ago.

I always got the impression that Dr. Candle (or whatever his name really is) was off the island and just part of the scientific testing on the main land. Again, this is just my opinion though.

You could be totally right on.

Dr. Chang. I know, it's gonna be hard to not call him by his fake names.

So I'm cruising the SpoilerTV forums and I see a post by aliceislittle about some door company which claims to be a Dharma Initiative, Inc company and even has a little Dharma logo. She e-mailed the company and recieved this response:

Hi,

Thank you for your inquiry. Our Parent company, the Dharma Initiative, Inc., is somewhat complex. We are a division called the Portal. We have been in Sacramento, CA for 6 years. If you have any questions I can answer I am happy to assist.

I figured the site was bogus so I called the number listed at the top of the site expecting a recording, and some guy answered; "SureFit Doors, how may I help you?"

I won't lie it totally caught me off guard and I freakin' hung up, lol. Anybody know anything about this site? It seems pretty obvious that this is not part of this current ARG, but during this lull in activity I thought I'd mention it.

The site is here.

It even has a DHARMA logo. It doesn't look like any logo used so far in either the ARGs or the show. I so hope that this site is in game.

It looks fairly out of game to me:
* No ABC terms of service/privacy policy
* The whois information is wildly different from known in-game sites
* The IP address hosting the website is in a wildly different subnet than known in-game sites (one is hosted on Dreamhost and the other on Mediatemple)

There was a station called "The Door". Well, it wasn't really a "station". It was in the fake Other's village seen in the episodes "Three Minutes" and "Live Together, Die Alone". It was two large doors that lead to nothing and was designed to fool any outsiders into a trap.

Not in-game. Interesting, however, that their images directory is open for listing, and you can see the dates on the images. (Click on "Last modified" at the top of the column for easy sorting.) That Dharma logo was a relatively recent addition, probably put there by the webmaster for personal use.

(As a former web admin, i can admit to creating hidden directories on our corporate website on occasion to host personal files. Bad wage slave!)

If this is a real company, someone should tell them that putting stuff like that on their site is wrong. Couldn't they get sued by ABC or get in trouble by the BBB (Better Business Bureau)? I mean, it isn't exactly "truth-in advertising" if it isn't truthful...

It seems to me that they are asking for a law suit, but who knows? This is their yellowpages listing
http://www.yellowpages.com/name/CA/dharma-initiative
I imagine that ABC or Disney has the name copyrighted but I don't know. Confused

Edit/I emailed them about their name on the yellowpages and how long they had been in business, this was their response;

DII - the Portal dba Surefit Door has been in Sacramento for 6 years. Other divisions and disciplins have existed longer. I don't know all the details. Is there something I can help you with?

Copyright infringemet popped into my head as well. I'm pretty sure both the name and logo (or likeness) are property of ABC.

i sent them a email via their website:

Hello. I do not mean to be disrespectful, but isn't calling yourself "a Dharma Initiative, Inc. Company" copyright infringement on behalf of the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) and the creators of the Emmy Award winning television show LOST? Are you not afraid of a lawsuit by ABC for not only taking the name "Dharma Initiative" but also taking a logo from the television show LOST?
