 		Okay, so seeing as how this thread hasn't really been updated since more info has come in I'll do a quick rundown of what i'm aware of. As always, feel free to correct/update whatever I say.

Has to do with the Bungie Day Cold Storage DLC specific playlist that will be goin' ons on 7/7/08 a.k.a. Bungie Day.

We also know that Cold Storage is the new map coming out (codename Smuggler? or is that a different one? I'm unsure).

Some materials for Bungie Day have been released, the tour of cold storage, and some of the 'gifts' have been released early, the theme and gamer pictures. In the video there is a brief moment at the end when the text "Bungie Day" switches to "KEEP IT CLEAN" in a mass of static. Shortly after there is a small watermark-like image of The Superintendent.
In the Gamer Pictures there is an image of the Superintendent.

While all of this is clearly intertwined, it does not seem to be creating any leads or giving us a trailhead. Though, honestly, the last Bungie 'arg' didn't do that either.

I will admit that, if this were to be treated like a normal arg, then we're still to early in the game for there to be a trailhead anyways.

 		There's some weird stuff going on with the ilovebees site. 1 there is no countdown. 2 the pic behind the countdown is different at this time (some kid holding something up???) and this:http://ilovebees.com/honey.html


(it seems to change every so often so this is whats happening at this time. white wording floods the screen and then green texts pops up "HI! ignore the Pious Flea, Play With me Instead! making a mistake is a good way to start) I don't remember this being there but its been years since I've been there.

 		Man, you guys are falling down on the job! Razz There are some new happenings on Bungie.net that I haven't seen mentioned here, so...

First, this post (which was rather quickly dismissed as trout, unfortunately) gives a good introduction of the Superintendent weirdness going on at the site. But things have changed a bit since then.

One things the poster of that thread didn't mention is that this Superintendent has been popping up everywhere. He was the logo on Frank O'Conner's t-shirt in an old Weekly Update, he flickeringly appeared at the end of the Bungie Day video, and he has appeared on a sticker put in front of Bungie's webcam. So this is pretty big... big enough for them to make shirts, at least.Razz

For awhile, the Superintendent has been repeating a random assortment of strange, non-sequitur "catchphrases" in random threads:

But for the last day or so, he's settled on repeating one phrase, which is also in his signature:

(Note that this phrase also made an appearance waaay back in the first Halo game, on the message board in the bridge of the Pillar of Autumn)

The strange thing is, as the Super has repeated this phrase over and over, it has become "corrupted", changing every couple of repetitions:

As you can see, each letter is being swapped out for another character. So far, we have seen:

This looks a lot like a date. A very close date. 07-14-08, possibly followed by a time.

Another change is that the Bungie logo is temporarily flickering to an image of the Superintendent every 61 seconds (6+1=7 omigod).

Furthermore, but possibly meaningless, is that the term "Superintendent" is not this character's name, but his title, similar to "Moderator" or "Bungie employee". His name is actually a series of seven bars: |||||||. Copying these bars and pasting them into MS Word reveals them to be four capital I's followed by three lower-case L's, or "IIIIlll". It looks like a long, drawn-out "I'll" to me. I'll what, exactly...?

Oh, and I suggest renaming this thread. The Smuggler stuff is unrelated, I think. Just a bit of fun to help introduce the map Cold Storage. This is something else entirely...

Possibly 146 in roman numerals? Even though that should technically be IVLLL and when I plugged the above into a numerals converter it came out with 152 instead? (I guess its using (1-1)+(1-1)+50+50+50 ?)

-The green text. Nobody uses green text (only yellow and orange).
-The strange messages. Short, all caps messages with a hidden meaning?
-The inability to report. Meaning he's part of an ARG?
-The parallels to AdjutantReflex. It's a little more than coincidence, I'd say.
-The messages at the end of Weekly Updates. All referring to 2401.

All of this adds up to a potential ARG in the making. Sorry if it's a little long, but I needed to bring everyone up to speed. And yes, I know this looks like a new username, but I was here last summer under the same name; my name must've expired.

This could also turn out to be nothing, so close if necessary.

(And let's not forget that there are seven "|"'s in his name. Something fishy...)

Well, after reexamining B.net, I think I may have misinterpreted the meaning of the name somewhat.

You see, the main Superintendent profile, the one that's been posting on the boards, is not the only one. There are actually at least six Superintendent-level profiles, all with the same avatar and profile layout. They also have similar names, seven bars (|||||||), and are differentiated only by the arrangement of I's and L's that make up the bars.

Here's the main profile, the one that posts. It has four I's and three L's.

And these are the five inactive profiles, followed by their usernames (this forum's serif font will let you spot the differences between the capital I's and the lower-case L's):

One (IIIIIII)
Two (lllllll)
Three (IIIIIIl)
Four (IIIllll)
Five (llllllI)

So, while the letters themselves may not have meaning, it makes you wonder... why would Bungie create multiple Superintendent profiles and only have one of them post?

Ah, okay. That makes more sense. But if that's true, I would think that we'd have gotten most of the numbers by now since that's tomorrow?

Edit: It lasts through the 17th so maybe it will be revealed before then?
