[CITY LABYRINTH] Reykjavik, Iceland Here's my proposal for the Reykjavik labyrinth.
Do we already have contacts in Iceland?

I've contacted a young physician-to-be who recently spent a semester in Reykjavik as an exchange student. Let's hope that she will be able to find us a city captain for Reykjavik - we need this omphalos knot!

I'm approaching some people via Couchsurfing - will keep you posted as to how it goes...

Certain adjustments Hi all,
I was contacted via Couchsurfing and I think this is pretty cool. Since I'm a local here I'd like to propose certain adjustments to make the labyrinth more interesting, location wise. I noticed the proposal is drawn through a couple of quite really ugly streets and locations.
So I've got those questions before I make some adjustments to the proposal:
-Is it better to comlicate things?
-How long should the track be? [can I make it a bit longer?]
Best regards,

Re: Certain adjustments You can adjust or redesign as needed.

Complication is sort of part of the design because the path has to qualify as a labyrinth. But this tells you about that http://olympics.wikibruce.com/Ariadne/080526-id1610
Check here too for info: http://olympics.wikibruce.com/Earth-omphalos and here to find the strength of the one you design.

Re: Certain adjustments So, what's a convenient Omphastrength ? 1? 10?
And how wide is a stadia? 192.28 meters or 177.2 meters?
kv.

that Omphastrength calculator is good, isn't it?

Oooh, welcome to unFiction and the world of ARGs! I love this game has really increased the international membership.
Please, take some time to look around and read some of the articles posted on www.unfiction.com - and ARGNetcasts and ARGNet.com
I'm looking forward to seeing pictures from Iceland's labyrinth.

I still need to know how high Omphastrength is required..

We know it needs to be at least 3 circuits and 3 stadia wide, so a minimum strength required would be 1.5. We can use all the strength we can get, but it's more important just to have the city omph knot labyrinth completed than to go for a a particular strength. Eli Hunt said "Remember, it doesn't matter how powerful our knots are, if the net is only half-formed."

Ompha 2.41 Okay, so here's an idea of a path that to me would be complex enough and going through some nice places. Also, it also more or less circles the actual original OLD CITY of Reykjavik so it has a bit of historical value. Not perfect, but more or less.
It has Omphavalue of 2.41.

I tried to cram some more circuits into the area you are using. Of course, I can't really tell if this route is passible- just doodling onto satellite pictures.

This is supposed to be 7 circuits with Omphastrength 9.16

Halló mcorange and thank you for joining in on the fun.
This is so cool.
I was seriously considering making a trip to Reykjavik in August, but I wasn't sure if it was going to be possible. I even started to design an omphalabyrinth myself and, though I hadn't gotten very far, it was in the same area as mcorange (and jasper) are doing theirs. I love the look of that building in the center.

Welcome onboard, mcorange! SO great to have someone from Iceland joining us. Your labyrinth design is way better than mine - my problem was that Google Maps didn't spit out a decent map of Reykjavíks inner city, so I tried to improvise with the first map I came across. The building that Pita is so enthusiastic about is Hallgrímskirkja, isn't it? Regarding the omph strength calculation, number of circuits, everything important has been said, I think. Have you already contacted Eli and Kai?
Again: Gorgeous that you are with us. I hope you'll have lots of fun saving the world with us, and I'm looking forward to the Icelandic omphalabyrinth!
