[MO]Team Essef
In case you're wondering, [MO] is Multiversal Olympics

Alright, so we've heard from Edwin Moses and from Ariadne (check out her new blog). We need 16 dedicated team members for Team Essef. I know we've got seven--Dav, Momonga, Pita, RangerD, Cineball, Ariock, Momonga's friend.

I feel like we need a really good way to get more people. Everybody contact everyone you know that could do it--I'm going to do a major Facebook sweep. And of course, the best way to find our teammates is to hold a training session... anyone up for Sunday?

EDIT: I just remembered that Kai and James should join us. At the very least I expect James to--he wanted to join us for a practice run anyway. So that brings the count to 8 or 9--halfway there.

I'm out of town all weekend, as Friday is my birthday. Good luck!

I'm a maybe. I am pretty busy, but I might be able to make it. I just don't want to say yes and then not be able to.

Unless Kai and/or James have to be in Beijing. I wonder if James has to be in Beijing if he wants to join Toria?

Just the opposite. If James wants to join Toria, he can't be in Beijing. But I'll have to research why.
When video 5 from thelostring.com came out, Eli told Ariadne/Alex that she had to go to Beijing. However, that made her upset because if she was in Beijing, she couldn't go home.

EDIT: Chapter 25 of the codex says "We now know how far the last labyrinth must be from the site of the opening ceremony."
"We know where we six must stand when the time comes to go home."
But then Chapter 25 doesn't tell us how far.
http://olympics.wikibruce.com/Codex-13Ap1
Supposedly we'll figure that out when we take the 5 rings, and combine them to form the 6th ring.
Ch. 27:
As the rings themselves, you must take one out of every continent, and make a new ring.
But not a perfect circle.
Only worry about the untouched interiors.
When you find your way through the five rings, you will see ...
... there were always six rings.

Alright, no luck yet on increasing our official numbers, although I have a couple people interested and some who are unsure. Let's see how many people we can convert on Sunday!

James made the Yahoo Upcoming per my request today (we were FB chatting) and I've updated the Facebook Event to accomodate. By my calculations, if we've got James (+1), me, (+1 or hopefully 2) Cineball (+1), L'el (+1?), Ariock, and Momonga (+1?), that's hopefully 11-12. Plus whoever we can rope in off the street. Judkins has told me that it is possible to do a 7-circuit with 11 people, so I'm really hoping we can get this to work! (Pita, I didn't count you on account of your maybe status. Hope you can make it!)

11 from the start... I'm excited it planned for Justin Herman Plaza. Much potential for n00b walk-ups.

I made Sunday available and just went in there to sign up, but I see it has been changed to Saturday, which I cannot make. WTF?

Yeah, I haven't gotten a chance to post HERE today, because my flight back was today and thus I was out of commission a lot. However, I did get a chance to send James a message that I was going to replicate here...

Quote:
So apparently I'm leaving for Montana SUNDAY morning rather than MONDAY morning, thus making a Sunday run impossible for me. Luckily, as I understand it, most (if not all) of the people already signed up are available on Saturday too--and I haven't yet sent out my message to everybody yet Razz

I changed the time of the Facebook event to Saturday at 1, but I wanted to make sure it was okay with you. And see if you could change the time for the Yahoo Upcoming.

It makes me sad, though, that you cannot make it Pita D:

Whether or not all of our long termers can make it this weekend, we still need to be recruiting as we get closer to the big day. I have a few potential runners and I'll try to keep working on it.

You are sweet.

Well, it can't be done without our STAR runner anyway, so it is best that it was changed to Saturday, so you can make it. Smile

There is a slight chance I can attend tomorrow. If I can, you will know because I will be there. AMAZING how that works, isn't it?

And: Montana? When are you returning? Why Montana?

Hahaha, *prays Pita magically appears*

And Montana: I'm going to Montana with my sister and 5 other kids from my church youth group for like 9 days to build a house (or most of one) for Habitat for Humanity. We do Mission Trips like this every year and they're all a blast--the last two were to Seattle and Arizona. I get back on like Wednesday or something after ARGfest. Only missing one weekend.

Your prayers are powerful and effective. Very Happy

That was fun. In two weeks, we (and when I say we, I mean you) shall break the records, whatever they are!

You rock! I love Habitat for Humanity. That is so cool that you do that. Very Happy

yey I love it when people have faith in me Razz

And yes. Today rocked. I've already made a FB event for two weeks time--although all times are placeholder (it may be on Sunday, it may be at 2 instead of 1, ect.). And next time I promise I won't let my dad make me so terribly late again. I missed the train. BY ONE MINUTE. And thus we didn't really start until 1... and we were hoping to start (making the labyrinth) before then... oh well. It all worked out in the end. And now that I'm finally back in the swing of things we can do it. I'm sure we can.

And just in case you were wondering:

3-circuit labyrinth
Wellington--12.09 seconds
Pangaea--12.94 seconds
San Francisco--14.5 seconds

7-circuit labyrinth
Pangaea--1:19
Wellington--1:25.25
San Francisco--1:57

THEY SHALL BE BROKEN.
