i love the scene of clover being bombed when they're in the helicopter. that's pretty much our first and only wide-angle, good view.
that, and the view from the building when they are saving beth.

Yeah the bombing scene is my fav. Only part that actually scared the shit out of me, when that bitch comes flying out of the smoke.

I'm actually one of those pathetic people that got sick at the theatre (please don't flame me!).
I liked the part where they see Beth's building, and the horse and buggy go trotting by. I liked it because that shot was, in my mind, EXACTLY how it would have looked if a giant monster were truly to attack NYC.

I thought that the Hud-munching was pretty cool...just something about the guy holding the camera getting chewed up makes me giddy.
I also liked the wide-angle bombing scene.
But, by favourite scene has got to be Marlena going boom. I think that scene's rather epic...although, I am a glutton for gore, so anything with copious amounts of blood, guts, and/or ickiness is sure to get my vote. Marlena's explosion was just plain cool. It's actually the scene that I used to get people interested in seeing the film...everyone loves to get blown by a chick, but how often do we get to see a chick get blown by a parasite? (For some reason, that reminds me of Evil Dead....another awesome movie.)
As for the horse part, which Wyskers just mentioned, I liked that scene better in the trailer...it just seemed more eerie there than it did in the movie.

I would have to say Hud standing toe to toe with the monster.
^^ The first 2 times I seen it I didn't feel sick in the least, but the third time I almost had to leave, maybe it was where I was sitting. I can't forget waiting for the whisper at the end of the movie (of course) and the theatre clean-up crew came in and started screaming. Someone puked in the exit aisle and everyone (except the ones who waited for the lights to come up ,) walked through it and tracked it all over the place. Gross.

I liked probally the part with the least amount of action...my favorite scene was when the group first makes it to the subways, and Rob gets on the phone cause its real...you know?

But I'm thinking of what Sarah said, "Love is watching someone die"
So who's going to watch you die?...

I think my favorite part of the movie is actually before all of the action starts. I like when Jason and Hud are sitting on the fire escape consoling Rob (Or more like telling him he's a douche bag and messed up, but y'know dudes). I think I like it because it really sets up why Rob does what he does to "save" Beth. He takes his brother's last pearls of wisdom, if you will, to heart.
But, my favorite line is "Beth lives in Midtown, Midtown is that way. You know what else is that way? Some horrific shit is in Midtown!" Hud makes me smile.
And my favorite shot of Clover if when Rob, Hud, Marlena, and Lily are running for the Subway and Hud gets a nice shot of Clover screaming. It's amazing.
Sorry for being long winded.

haha, i laugh and flame you all for getting sick!!!! (not really)
the third time i went to see the movie, i sat dead center in the theatre... middle seat, middle row.
i had actually brought a pint of rum with me, and bought a large coke (which tastes so much better here), and went to the bathroom, dumped some out, and filled 'er up
let me just say, that in theatres, rum and coke makes cloverfield kick much more ass. and yet still, no sickness.
though i had to use the restroom a few times

I honestly am hard pressed to single out a scene as my outright favorite...
It was such an amazing journey.
I do have to say I really like the subway tunnel scene, greatly for the Hud and Marlena humor, but primarily for Marlena beating the crap out of the parasite. She's a badass.
Oh, and yeah - despite it's tragic circumstances...
Exploding chicks. Heh.

The first scene that the gang gets a nice close up look at Clover is probably my favorite; when they're running to the subway and they're caught in the cross fire.
Though the wide angle bombing scene is also badass. When I saw that scene for the first time I got chills..the special effects are phenomenal.

a lot of shots come to mind, but i like the electronic store scene. so much chaos going on and suddenly Hud notices all the looters just frozen watching television. also when the Clover gang are walking down the street and suddenly find themselves caught between the military and a giant monster. huds screaming from across the street really make that scene for me.

Yeah, the God Shot of Clover when he was getting bombed as hud n co. are in the chopper was probably my favorite scene, but a close runner up was just being able to look into Clovey's eyes for 30 seconds, and watch his sacks pulsate, as he does the whole "What bitch?! your supposed to be terrified of me. What the hell are you still doing standing there?! do you think that maybe your NOT about to die or something?! WRONG *CHHHHHHHOMP!!!*" thing. It was just one of the defining moments of the movie, for all the people who have been dying to know what the monster looks like. Just being able to see the monster from THAT close up, made my spine tingle when i saw it for the first time. Hell, it still does. I got a 72" plasma with surround sound in my living room, and when i shut off all the lights, and turn the ambient lights on the sides of the tv on, n turn the surround sound all the way up, man its almost better than seeing it in the theatres. N that scene in particular gets me every time. Im just too stupid to buy the damn dvd. I keep rentin it, and then whenever i tell myself to just buy the damn thing, im broke, lol.

Not sure about favourite moments since I loved the entire film, but there were moments that really moved me. Seeing the SOL's head crash into the street continues to give me goosebumps, and listening to Lily scream after Jason right before he gets hit can almost drive me to tears. I think the whole movie was my favourite part because it's really MOVING. It gets you excited, it keeps you on your toes, and it really makes you relate to every character. A movie that can make me feel when a character dies is a damn good one.
Hud's "for all I know I'm gonna shit my pants right in this stairwell!" line followed by "sorry..." in the next shot is always priceless. And every time you can hear the monster roar/cry gives me goosebumps, especially when you know he's just as spooked as everyone in the city.

whew! yeah, the first military scene really got me. when they're just walking, and then BAM!!! missiles and gunshots and a friggin tank... it was so loud, so sudden, and so suspenseful. i felt just like hud and co., becos in my mind i was screamign right along with them. "OHMYGODOHMYGODSHITSHITOHMYGOD".
VERY powerful scene.
