It's only been, what, 3 days? Assuming they mail the package as soon as you respond, it *might* come today. Of course, I'm in the US, so I won't get it 'til next month (damn USPS). Razz

Haven't received anything yet, but then again I haven't even gotten my Holomove shirt yet so who knows. Maybe the receptionist is keeping all my stuff. Confused

Final Mission

Hello Agents.

UnFiction stipulates that as a PM, I am now able to communicate with players of our ARG since the game is now complete.

First, I would like to thank each of you for participating in Experience the Node! Your participation was both welcomed and appreciated. Interest in the ARG grew to include over 450 registered agents. Not bad, considering we were just trying to promote a LAN Gaming Centre in Calgary. Our intent was not to create an internationally played game, but since it ended up going that way, we went with it and had some fun while doing it. We hope you enjoyed the challenges.

Secondly, we would be interested in hearing your comments and feedback about our ARG and if you would like to participate in a brief survey - 4 or 5 questions (really brief. - like mission 1 brief!) that it would also be appreciated. This was our first ARG from concept to completion and although we made a few errors, feedback on the missions and how they played would be grateful. If you would like to share your feedback with me send me a private message or continue to post here or on our forum.

Lastly, the packages from the last mission will be sent out next week through regular post (meaning a few weeks for it to get to India, UK and Indonesia - please be patient if you are outside of North America). This will also give agents another week to respond as some of them may be away on vacation. And, as you can imagine we are very busy getting ready for the grand opening tomorrow.

Thanks again, it has been a pleasure working with you all. The Node will be altering the missions a bit and leaving them up for people to play at their leisure. It will be a little watered down as there won't be any 'live interaction' or 'live drops', just a series of automated missions based on the missions you have participated in. We believe this will be fun for people just starting out on ARG's and people looking for a quick game fix.

At the heart of The Node are a small group of very dedicated gamers - enthusiasts that want to bring the best elements of gaming and put them into a fun and comfortable atmosphere. We will post photos of the grand opening on the official web site: http://nodegaming.com when the site is launched next week. If you are ever in the Calgary area, come by, you are most welcome at The Node.

Cheers,
Bonmarca

The missions were challenging and very fun! I hope to see more from your creative team in the future. The giveaways at the end of the game was a nice touch, too. I anxiously await mine in the mail.

I do have a question, though. I found out after the game was pretty much over that there was a link to fortran punchcards and that also led me to Hollerith constants. Would this information have helped us solve the last mission? It almost seemed like the answer was given to us without truly solving it. I assume that this was a timing issue.

Thanks for a great game!

Hi bonmarca,

A couple things - first, I wanted to apologise for my behaviour in the forums on one of the missions, got into a bit of a completely unnecessary argument with another player and that's never constructive, especially when we need to be working together...

Second, thanks for this game, I don't think I ever got any of the solves first, but I do know that I spent literally hours poring over the clues and researching different codes and ciphers, so that was a bit of an eye opener. Also, I'm very grateful that you're rewarding those outside of Calgary, it was a bit frustrating when we twigged that the end game was The Node in Calgary as it meant I couldn't get involved in it, I wish I'd been able to play the game to it's conclusion as I did really enjoy participating.

I have one question, are you guys The Node staff and this was a one off, or can we expect more ARG's from you?

Thanks,
sowasred2012

There were several people working on the ARG, some were the very talented staff of The Node and some were from the creative agency working with The Node. We worked together very closely to ensure relevancy and continuity.

I am with the creative agency and we do see more ARG's in our future - we will post to UF when they launch. If The Node does another ARG, which is also possible, they will contact past players, through their database.

BTW - thanks to all who have provided comments!

Bonmarca

Vapor - I'm working on your question still....

Re: Packages

So, bonmarca, the packages will be shipped around this Monday (8/1Cool and will begin arriving in North America over the course of two weeks, right?

Not yet. I'm actually up at college, but as soon as mine arrives at my home, I'm having it sent up.

I got package as well. Was going to take pictures, but camera phone didn't have enough battery to do so. Will have to wait until Tuesday at this point.
