 Letter to 42Entertainment

This is the letter to 42E I sent earlier today. Please forgive the type-o's. Guess who forgot to grammar check.....

Hi,

My name is Elizabeth. My self and my husband are players for the Batman Dark Knight ARG on line. Yesterday, Gotham City Pizzeria had the special promotion with Domino's Pizza. We responded, placed our on line order, and received a confirmation e-mail stating that we were the winners of the free medium one topping. Before my husband placed the order, he called the location directly to see if it had been claimed. The woman on the phone said no. She told us to place our on line order and that it would be all set. She said that we would have our pizza plus a letter and a package. After hanging up with her, he placed the order ready to be picked up at 8pm which is when I would arrive.

I arrived promptly at 8pm, which I have to add is 45 minutes from where I live. I also drove in torrential downpours, golf ball sized hail, high winds and lightening. I got there safely and went in to ask for my pizza. The girl at the counter just plopped it on the counter and walked away. I had to wait to get her attention and asked her if there was something else I should be receiving with the pizza. She looked at me funny and said,"No."

I then asked to speak with her manager and her reply was, " Well, I'm kind of in charge. The manager left."

I then explained the game and what I should be expecting. Her response was still a blank stare and a, "I have no idea what you're talking about."

I then asked her to call her manager. She called and explained what I was requesting and after a few minutes, she hung up with him. She said the manager told her to tell me that someone claimed it at 1:20 pm that day and too bad. All I get is a free pizza and to have a good night. I told her that there must be a mistake and I requested the phone number for her District Manager. She wrote it on a napkin and walked away.

I went out to my car and called Dominic Beienvenutti, whom is the District manager for the Domino's location. He put me on hold and called the location directly. After a few minutes, he got back to me and said the according to the manager, it was already claimed. I said that it was impossible seeing that we had a confirmation and the person my husband spoke with earlier stated the no one had claimed it and we were the first to inquire about it. Dominic then said that he has an e-mail from his manager that states that it was delivered with the first free pizza for the day. He then said that the manager probably didn't check to see if it was a "Gotham" pizza or if it was a free pizza from another promo. He told me to try to contact someone from this promotion site to see what can be done.

As of right now, the code for Springfield has not been entered and if you check the website, it still says that the pizza has not been picked up. I am upset that we did all this hard work just for the location the screw up and give it to someone who probably threw out the code and tossed the mask somewhere. I would understand if there were multiple people for our location fighting for the same pizza, but as far as we and the entire forum for this know, my husband and I are the only people registered for the Western MA area. And if this was claimed earlier in the day, anyone who was on top of this would have entered the code and it would not still be showing on the website.

If there is any way that this code could still be received, that is all we are looking for at this point. I don't want a pizza because, honestly, I don't like Domino's. However, I was willing to have it for dinner seeing that I was about to enjoy something better on line. Please let me know if you have any other information about this. Thanks for your time in reading.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth and Timothy

Wowza, if 42 doesn't shape up after that letter or at least ship you some nifty schwag, then by jove, they're off my list to play ARG's with.

Here's the thing...

We don't want any stuff from 42.

We just wanted to let them know how poorly this game was handled.

Hopefully it will help them make better decisions in the future as to who they will deal with as far as corporations are concerned.

As somone else put it earlier, it probably wasn't 42's decision to work with Domino's in the first place. It was probably Warner Bros.

They are ones running the show when it comes down to it.

No, it's totally fair and they should know that this game does have a bit of history being run poorly i.e. the bowling ball incidents. Was just saying that that letter is probably going to be hard to ignore.

So........

You know how we said that 42 hadn't responded to our letter as of yesterday?

Well they did today.

In a big way.

They sent us a Mask and a letter in the black zip up bag.

No questions asked.

They are seriously on top of their "game"

We can't believe how generous that was of them to do that.

We are so appreciative of how they handled this situation.
All we were really trying to do was make them aware of the situation and they came through above and beyond.

Woohoo!!!

Now we can actually participate in the Video/Picture Submissions like we were intending to do when we had thought that we had won.

We will definitely be contacting 42 to thank them personally for their generousity.

Here's a pic for ya.

My buddy Dave was here when opened up the package and he sports it pretty well.....
