Doesn't unfiction have a fake bussiness set up with telephone numbers and stuff?

The only problem is, its a fake company on the web only. Its not really hooked up to a real address or phone number. I set it up when Zach and Ethan were looking for investments and I thought maybe they'd communicate with us that way.

But I put in my address and number. Any communications I get I'll put on wiki. I use PhoneTag (greatest invention ever BTW) so I get voicemails via email with a .wav file attached...so it will be real easy to upload any messages I get. I hope this helps...you should still be able to play that way.

All this is well and good, sound analysis, and I agree with all of you.

However, there is something completely distasteful about being falsely accused of something by a fictional character young enough to be my daughter....that's not cool by me. In the real world I would never allow myself to be treated or spoken to in that manner by anyone, regardless of their age or immaturity. I take pride in my personal character, and I have never given anyone reason to question it, as far as I know. Her response to me was insulting, and having to bow down and kiss ass to stay in the game is now irritating the heck out of me.

After sleeping on it, I have decided I will probably not be playing this game much further.

PMs have a right to get frustrated at the players for not going down the correct path. However, they do not have a right to take out their frustration on us and become insulting. Completely ignoring my message would have been just as effective.

That having been said, there is a part of my brain that wonders if that tirade was intentional, or had some kind of hint. Why bring up the paranoia about Ethan out of the blue? I hadn't written ANYTHING that remotely hinted at that. It makes me wonder if I am dealing with a young first time PM who snapped in frustration, or very clever ARGists who were redirecting.

So far this game has not shown me the latter. (Sigh.) It's losing any kind of attraction for me as a player. For the PMs who may be reading this, there was no reason for the Tyler character to bitch me out and accuse me of dishonorable actions over two incorrect responses about data in a file. Especially since your intention here is so clouded. There is absolutely no way my messages could have logically triggered that kind of response IN GAME. If the tone of Tylers bitch out was accidentally OUT of game, I suggest you get a hold of that curtain and close it a bit more tightly.

I am going over to the Lost folder, where at least Dharma says they want me. Heh.

It is a risk to make characters be rude. The PMs understand this, and can now tell it won't go over well with this audience. With that said, Tyler is a character and anything she levels against anyone should be taken lightly.

I understand where you're coming from, Sassy. In a previous game, I myself was the victim of verbal abuse by an in-game character. While it somehow fitted that character's personality, it was still surprising since we'd been trying very hard to solve his problems. I guess it wasn't that surprising, though, when the game went bust not long after.

Finally got an "we'll be in touch" message by Secure ID Guard. Also a personal touch, they used Dutch and French, so they're certainly doing their homework.

Tyler didn't come online yesterday, it seems. At least not on MySpace to read my latest message. Neither did Ethan (also not surprising). Zach's still missing. A little over three weeks to go till the launch; plenty of time I guess.

Dropped in rank from 10 to 15. How did so many people earn points overnight?

I wouldn't have thought it a big deal myself if Fizz hadn't reacted to it.

We're on a shared 15th place, Akiva, with 110 points. So I guess whatever you're doing, it's not working either.

Short blog with little info except for some locations, but except for Tokyo not very specific. Not sure whether it warrants a comment. Should we be able to contact Zach now? All I got for him is the LinkedIn account.

Although I still don't know why, as with contacting Secure ID Guard. With that enrolment thing I felt like a different person than the one trying to connect with Tyler and Ethan, and that's demanding a bit too much IMO. I want to remain myself, not play some business exec for their benefit.

MySpace message to Tyler still hasn't been read yet, though she did come online yesterday according to her last login stats. I still feel like I'm missing something.

Sometimes I get the feeling that, because I didn't personally sent a message to bring Ethan and Tyler together, for "them" in "my" version of this game they still aren't together and they won't reply to me until I personally bring them together myself like the others did. But that doesn't make sense in connection with their new posts.

The LINKEDIN site is what scared me. I deleted my account there. I had four requests for links to me...everything from a guy I went to high school with who now sells something akin to Amway, to another Production company wanting to steal me away from Irene's fake one, to a stalker ex-boyfriend, and a spammer. SHOULD NOT HAVE USED MY REAL NAME. Heh. It's gone now though....however, not quick enough. Let me expand that thought.

I don't know if any of you use background check companies/software, but I do for some occasional side work I do--skip tracing. I now erroneously appear on one of those databases as a past employee of both SecureID and UNF Promotions. And I was only a LINKEDIN member for a week.

It's one thing to use your personal info for something like Facebook or MySpace, but quite another for something like LINKEDIN. Luckily I have the info to be able to have that changed, but when I think about the repercussions it could have for some....images of the IRS and unreported income? LOL!!!!
