 		Possible new IG character?
Cruising Ethan's Facebook
The photo in Ethan's Facebook....he and a pal on the way to a conference...it's actually got a description:

Going out to dinner with my friend and colleague Brad Nevin during our trip to the Identity Management and Protection Conference.

In game?????

EDIT: He has a Facebook ID too....from Atlanta, GA. I sent a friend request and said I was a friend of Ethan's. On Ethan's I sent a request saying I was a friend of Brad's. Too many previous friends to be IG for me, but why put this guy's name and face out there?

 		One of his friends is Daniel Bremmer from Greenpoint BKLYN. But all the profiles are old and established. Maybe he's related to Zach Bremmer? Bremmer can't be a common name.

If you click through a lot of Brad Nevin's friends, they are all Bay Area, Seattle Washington and part of the Williamburg/Greenpoint/Ft. Greene social milieu. Maybe they are taking real people with real profiles and putting them In Game? Even though they are not really IG? I don't know...its confusing.

EDIT: The conference is a real conference. Apparently sponsored by the NSA (giving out specs for government contractors and bids.)

 		Hey, searched youtube and the name thomasjcob had put up a version of the video. Anyone recognize the name? I have this nagging feeling that I read it somewhere, but I can't put my finger on it...

I really, really don't think that's the same guy. The pictures, well yeah they do look similar. Every other character has been from NY however, and like you said, way too many friends to be IG. Also he isn't friends with deleted or any of the cast (that I could see).

Again, too hard to tell from these pics, but I'm going to say it's not him, but it's about 50/50 for me.

 		this might seem a little wierd(where are we?) but it looks like to me in the video when zach is on the phone and they show his leg on the table it looks like he has a knee brace on or something? maybe its just a shadow but it looks bigger than normal. time to sign up for facebook i guess..

It's Bremmen not Bremmer. (No worries, I was looking for Ethan Dodd everywhere... Embarassed )

Yeah, he's one of us, he doesn't seem to post much on the forum, but he's pretty active on IRC and has already contributed (I've given him credit where due Wink) He works nights and sleeps days so that's probably why he's not on the forum a lot.

 		Hah, knew I was right: Thomasjcob is a cast member; name, Thomas Jacob. So correct assumption being that he's involved, but he is not IG

 		I know, I know, double-posting as my first contribution to this thread. So beat me with a fish.

I've been doing a bit of lookie-loo-ing, trying to locate something on "desidtech". At first, I split it into two words: "desid" "tech". Turns out, "desid" is (at least close to) latin for "desire". Which gives me "DesireTech". Pretty much the only thing I get there is that it WAS a website (probably a long long time ago) and has now expired. So people want to sell it to me for $5.99!! Awesome!

But not what I'm looking for.

Then I discover that you can break it into three words: "DES" "ID" "Tech". Well, turns out that DES stands for "[URL=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_Encryption_Standard]Data Encryption Standard[/URL]", which was developed in the early 70's and later used as a [URL=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Information_Processing_Standard]Federal Information Processing Standard[/URL].

So, it appears to me that Ethan has developed some sort of technology based on DES that secures your identification. Yes, yes, we already know that he has founded SecureIDGuard, but this gives us some insight into what it might actually BE. Unfortunately, searches for "DES ID Tech" still turn up nothing, as far as I can see.

 		I guess what I'm confused about is why Ethan Dobb (and Tyler Mills for that matter) an IG character, would friend someone exists in real life i.e. a cast member. And then removes Azure Wolf and TheIllustratedMan from his friend list. Is this typical or is this just bad PM form? (This is why I don't use social networking. I can't even get friended by fictional characters!)

OK, so hopefully we can find Zach's whereabouts so we can let the german lady know where he's at. I'm with Sassy though, I don't mind looking for this guy either! Y-U-M. If anyone gets enough points to win a pass to the VIP launch party, you should totally take me. Very Happy
