I have checked on Google map for Pentham, Maxley and Godstall and they don't exist Shocked

So what now???

EDIT:
actually in google map it asked me for Pentham if I mean Bentham (which exist) and Maxley to Maxey..but nothing at all for Godstall

So i thought maybe the letters that aren't in the right order..maybe they mean something: P & X ..but what? Don't ask me I have no idea

Personally I think Tube is the way to go, I cannot see any other way right now, but those places and numbers need cracking. I dont think the number is a distance, but try house numbers, Time (in minutes spent travelling?) or anything else you know.

Edit:
(Here is why it makes no sense, but I shall add it to the brainstorm)
Saying Tottenham Court Road is a fixed starting point... 1N and 2S (Assuming N and S are North and South) Would bring you to Leicester Square, if you stay on the same line.
Then starting from TCR again (Going from Leic. Sq. 4S brings you to Kensington which only seems to go North East, and gets complicated en. route far too quickly) 4S brings us to Waterloo, with a nice and easy 6E travel to North Greenwich
Leaving us with 2E and 6E...
Starting again at TCR: 2E is Chancery Lane... with not a single chance of being able to go anywhere but east again... whih takes us east, before turning North East and ending at Stratford.
Google searching these brings nothing but tube map links, And I have no idea what to look for at each location anyway!

None are anywhere near the location of the murder, New Cross station (Which is no longer in use on the tube, until 2012, when it will form part of London Overground)

I think I have gone wrong...

Here and Now... read all of this topic, every page... A London based help is EXACTLY what we need!

You could be the saviour of our pickled minds!

Edit: Further Research on google on the stations I found brought up this page: http://listings.thelondonpaper.com/title/the-chronicles-of-narnia-prince-caspian

I think you can ignore the fact its about Narnia, more importantly the fact that Leicester Square, North Greenwich and Stratford all have cinemas.
This still means nothing to me.

i asked dirk about the typos. he kept it short.

What are the typos?
Dirk.

so i wrote him back and told him about pentham and maxley. and let him know there was some in the clipping as well. i have this feeling when we find whatever it is we're looking for that were going to be disappointed. this is really going no where.

no its not and after all day of waiting on dirks reply i have come to the conclusion this is not for me. we have one PM who probably posts here on unforum. which leads me to believe if hes to busy playing elsewhere he cant possibly be paying close enough attention to his own game to PM and realize that 8 pages and 2 weeks after this started we not much farther than day one. no hard feelings and im sorry if this comes out bad but iv been down this road and it doesnt end well. good luck to those that wish to continue on with this. im currently to busy playing other games to give this one proper attention anyway. thanks to all its been fun nice meeting you all and if you need anything you know where to find me.

ps.
im gonna mail ol dirk and let him know im bowing out gracefully.

Sorry folks but it seems this game is dead. Just got this email from the PM:

Quote:
Dear Players,
I have decided to shut down this game, as I have recieved a complaint that I have insulted them by not entertaining them enough. Sorry if this is true, but I was expecting it to take you about four/five days to solve the letter, which is actually relatively simple when you do it logically and STEP BY STEP like I hinted multiple times, instead people were researching circus (first step) cats (last step), which is just illogical, and things along the same lines.
I shall now explain the riddle:

Starting between the hills look for the fun and games of Etruscan monarchs and seek Egidio. From this you get St Gile's Circus.
From his cave of a different empire, you may travel. This tells you the starting point is Tottenham Court Road Tube.

To find the first:
1N (Goodge Street Tube, and the nearby street from the list is Chenies = 4) and 2S (Charing Cross Tube, gives you Craven Street = 26) = 4 and 26.

Similarly for the others.
Secondly:
4S and 6E = 18 and 20.

Finally:
2E and 6E = 28 and 20.

Uxbridge = 20
Chenies = 4
Brooke = 28
Craven = 26
Mepham = 18
Pentham = 3
Maxley =13
Godstall = 23

Look in the Lord's (and Elliot's) cat who said the second statement in his testimony. The cat is Deuteronomy from Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Cats', which is also a book in the bible, and the numbers are references. When this was solved you would have been given a puzzle to work out which words in the paragraphs form a message.

Sorry and goodbye.
PM.

Wow Shocked . I'm pretty sure we could have got there eventually, and whoever said they were insulted by the lack of entertainment.....well, nuff said. Rolling Eyes

In this genre, puzzles take on a life of their own. Some you think "that's really hard, it'll take them a couple of weeks" and the collective intellect will solve it in an hour. Some you think will take an hour might take a couple of weeks. CI is a strange and unpredictable thing, surely that's part of the appeal of ARG's.
Frustration, on the other hand, is nearly always ugly. (I should know, I still haven't found my London A-Z Cursing !!) It's not necessarily the best thing to show a PM who has clearly spent time and energy creating something for us to do.

PM, I hope you will reconsider your decision. This was looking promising, and now we have had a peek into the way your mind works....well, who knows? Shifty Eyes

EDIT: Agent, you should be ashamed of yourself!! Right, that's it, you and me, outside now!! Catfight!

(joke, just in case....)
