And Elliot might refer to T. S. Elliot.

i think t.s. eliot only had one 'l' in it.

now, just some thoughts / stating the obvious:

Quote:
Starting between the hills

valley?

Quote:
look for the fun and games

circus?

Quote:
of Etruscan

roman?

Quote:
monarchs and seek Egidio.

saint?

Quote:
From his cave of a different empire, you may travel.

the name of a cave in england with the same name?

Quote:
To find the first:
1N and 2S.

Secondly:
4S and 6E.

Finally:
2E and 6E.

so this is a trail starting from the cave?

Quote:
Uxbridge = 20
Chenies = 4
Brooke = 28
Craven = 26
Mepham = 18
Pentham = 3
Maxley =13
Godstall = 23

and these are the steps along the way? in which case, shouldnt it go 'first', 'secondly', pentham, chenies, all of the rest, 'finally'?

Quote:
Look in the Lord's (and Elliot's) cat who said the second statement in his testimony.

we need to find this. i reckon itll reveal all.

sorry to double post, but i just had an idea.

the newspaper image has been faked, right? i mean, its in times new roman and there are loads of typos. but you can also see feint writing through the paper (presumably from the following page). if this were a faked-up paper, that print would need to be faked up too. i bet it says something. however, i tried zooming into the image but its got too much jpeg. was the original image a bmp?

that said, they could have just taken a normal newspaper and photoshopped the murder story onto it. that way it would have already had the print from the other side.

just a thought.

when and if I get a reply, I shall do so immediately... though I'll ease into it, of course. Don't wanna freak him out any more than he already is.

Well, it still accomplishes the mission, regardless.. that of murder+er and the man's email. Someone is calling Dirk a murderer... maybe something happened a long time ago that this "rabbit" witnessed? Something that may have been an accident, maybe?
Sorry, was just playing Phoenix Wright so I'm in murder mystery mode. Just thought I'd add that. For the more experienced players, just pick and choose what's relevant. I'll try not to add too many wild theories.

This newspaper image is from one of those online image generators - I've seen it a dozen times before. The faint writing shining through the other side isn't relevant (it's part of the image generators background, and not something that an end-user could change).

here is what i was thinking this all meant:

We need to find this...starting point ..need coordonates
Quote:
"Starting between the hills look for the fun and games of Etruscan monarchs and seek Egidio.
From his cave of a different empire, you may travel.

Once we have the coordonates...we do like he says below...moving 1 degree north...and 2 south...ect
Quote:

1N and 2S.

Secondly:
4S and 6E.

Finally:
2E and 6E.

for the rest..well not sure what it means....
And to tell you the truth not sure where it starts either

*twitch*

"Elliot's cat" is apparently another name for the Bengal cat breed. However, given the state of the newspaper article, I think a typo far more likely.

Also, St Giles is the patron of Edinburgh, for what it's worth.

YES. YES, THE LORD'S CAT'S NAME IS PETER, AND HE LIKED TO WATCH CRICKET. PETER IS ALSO USED AS AN EXAMPLE OF A CAT'S NAME IN A POEM BY T S ELIOT.

ALSO, PETER IS THE NAME OF A SAINT, MAYBE THAT'S SOMETHING?

Incidentally, I get the feeling that the Lord's Cat is one of those trivia things. Quite possible to never have heard of him.

Apparently cat Peter, has a book named after him. It contains, from what I can tell, reprints of unusual obituaries. Maybe you have to "look in" the book?

Relevant or not, i should probably post any responses/emails i get... so here's conversation with Dirk so far:

It was posted through my door on Saturday morning, I came downstairs at about 10am and there was just the piece of paper with this typed on it on the floor in the hallway. I have no ideas who it is from though.
Dirk Folds.

I received a picture of a clipping recently. Though seemingly unimportant, on it was written your email, and both murder and two letters, er, were underlined twice. I believe someone is calling you a murderer.
My friends have already discussed this "letter' you're talking about. I'd like to know more about it, and if you are in any sort of trouble.

I'll be waiting for your swift reply, if you choose to respond to this.

Apparently it was a "hit and run" type delivery. I'll inquire more, and some of the questions that we wanted to ask earlier.

Also, I can't get over that subject line... Are Roo G'ready... that last part, "G'ready" makes me think of the word, "greedy", sorry but it does. Irrelevant, probably, but why go to such lengths as to misspell such things? I am a very grammatical person and such things annoy me, lol. But why that G? AGH! I just realized it.... Are Roo G'ready.... A... R... G.... "ARG". You guys probably got that one already though. LOL.

Maybe if we solve the puzzle we help him run?

I thought maybe that was an inside joke to go on down the rabbithole.

Yeah, that's what I figured too when I got the email, but when it was repeated in the letter, I started getting suspicious.

I have been shooting email's to our man Dirk, nothing really relevant yet. Will post our conversations when I have more.

Googling Etruscan and Egidio together i got that in Italy there a town names Etruscan Chocohotel which is situated at about 30km from Sant Egidio . I think this might be our starting point. Still googling to see about this part: From his cave of a different empire, you may travel and the part of the between the hills look for the fun and games part. Guess I will need to go to google earth for that last one.
