Yeah, it's pretty hard to do that on Yahoo Answers. It takes a loong time to get that many points. A long time.

They still could've brought in someone though.

(Yay, playing Fringe! <3)

Plus, created an IRC channel just in case we want/need one: #fringe on the chat-solutions/unfiction server. I have no idea why we need one yet, but hey. Razz

Thought just occurred to me: if this is going to be an AR[G/E], would our next step to look for in game organizations like the Prometheus Corp?

I'm not sure if there's much point in being pushy. If he's IG (bought late or created wholesale) and he wants to be elliptical in his answers, there's little we can do about it but play along.

Incidentally, I noticed that (at least) two of Stuart's videos end up with Louise spinning prayer wheels at a temple while he narrates. He tells her, "They're like pedal rickshaws... keep going, there's only 108 of them."

Although 108 has loads of significance in Eastern religions, it's also a whopper in Abrams' world. It's Valenzetti rather than Fibonacci, but it does pop up in the pilot:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Morgan Steeg (I think that was his name) was passenger number 108 on the doomed flight.

Which is just to say I'm still hoping for an IG connection here.

Oh, and redct, concerning the corporate tie-ins, that's a good thought. Check out the first few posts in this thread to see what we've already established.

I typed in Prometheus Corp to Google and found a few sites. This site in particular, which is supposedly a "gardening" website, seems rather well made for a "gardening" website. http://www.pond.com/

Also, if you click the fairy/butterfly thingies flying around the trees they stop as if time is frozen. I don't know how to whois - anyone else want to? Very Happy

I've never done a whois either but I think I got the gist of it. If I'm reading it correctly, it was registered through GoDaddy by Domains By Proxy, Inc. Searching through GoDaddy says that it was created on 19-Jun-94 and the last updated date was 05-May-08. I think I read somewhere that a lot of ARGs will use Domains By Proxy b/c of their privacy practices.

Also, on that site if you click on the wolf/coyote it scampers off the page.

Personally, I'm doubting that one. Registered back in June 1994? That's quite a bit of foresight...

Just got a reply back from PortalToIndia:

Quote:
Hi RedCt,
I am a Buddhist. And a quantum physicist. In both disiplines the perception of reality is a complete illusion. The Buddhist call it Maya. I do not view my actions as reality but just a manifestation of my Karma. Do I have the ability to make choices? Yes but only in my false ego state since I have not achieved complete moksa. I just watch the movie unfold.

So the answer to your question is yes, no, maybe.

Please do not think that I am trying to be cocky, flippant or just a deceitful jerk. Much of what I believe is a result of years of training and having to see the world sort of upside down. If you know the Tarot cards-The card the Tower represents exactly this upside down reasoning. Once I was The Fool and I am coming close to being The Magician!

Thanks for you interest

Stuart AKA Master Quark

Man, he just doesn't want to give a straight answer. I'm thinking he's more and more IG...

From the FringeTV blogspot:
Quote:
When you select the leaf image (braille #5) on either the Fox.com/Fringe or ImagineTheImpossibilities.com sites, a weird sound is played. By isolating the sound, and playing it backwards, a hidden message is revealed -
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Expand Your Consciousness!

Thanks to Pwn Master Paladin for noticing the strange sound.

Ok- so it's now striking me that Stuart Sims (AKA Master Quark) is someone that the producers have hired to help: A real person brought in as a character, as was suggested above. Do ARGs normally do that?? Anyway, I sent him a bit of a rambling message, trying to play along with his elliptical approach. I did ask him, fairly directly, for any information he might have on "the pattern."

I'll post anything interesting that comes back.

And say- The "expand your consciousness" blip is subtle--really easy to miss. Good to know that's the level of play we're dealing with here.

I'm not willing to write this off too quickly. It seems to me that the PMs are going to great lengths to make this seem "real". I'm starting to get a picture of the Prometheus Corp in my head of this umbrella corporation with their fingers in everything. Their slogan: "What do we do? What don't we do?" I can see how pond.com could be an outlet for such a corporation.

Edit: You know, this could get very confusing. The big all knowing company in Fringe is being called Massive Dynamics now, apparently after a script change not The Prometheus Corp.
