Anyway to prove that these files are legit?...

Hang on, did I miss a thread?

Is there some question about the legitimacy of the files?

Can people STOP BEING RETARDED by posting the info about the game authors?

Does it look like there is a "B" at the end of also to anyone else?

It's probably nothing, but y'never now.

It certainly looks like a B, but it could also be a JPEG artifact.

1 cent = A cent = Ascent
maybe we've ascended to the next level in the ARG?

Guy in a business suit, holding a flag asking for a roll call
saying he/she is the "first to the spot" could this be CAESAR?

and then TEXEL chimes in that he/she is "Here"?

hmmm ... who'll be the next to show up?
Could these people be getting together to begin the resistance?

If the hacker theory is correct, there is nothing we can do except to keep watching the FTP.

Need some expert photoshoping. I don't have it here. Crying or Very sad

something goes up too. It could be just a stretch of also. But something there with the o's or zeros in the text.

Stamp Picture

The stamp picture is a bit odd, the 'mountain' appears to be a highly distorted map of most of the earth... the greenish areas seem to follow N and S America, Africa, and Eurasia, with the white area being the polar cap? The right side of the mountain caught my eye, the Saudi Arabian peninsula is pretty clear and undistorted. What to make of this I'm not sure...

Did anyone notice that the guy on the stamp ... his mouth is coloured over? ... ptached ... shut closed? kinda like Neo in M1.
BUT the guy's wearing a business suit and MAYBE sunglasses ... an agent getting ready to takeover?

Here are the zero-looking shapes in "ALSO" isolated on the top left. If you blow it up, you can see that the widths of the walls (of the zeros themselves) are always 1 pixel. Oh, I had to color it a little.

Btw, is this place slow right now or is it just my connection? Sometimes pages don't even load.

Of all the clues that have been pulled of the FTP-site right now, I think the text-file with the Texel-reference is probably the most significant in that it seems to point us somewhere.

As someone already stated, the 'Texel is annoying' bit has been replaced with 'Texel is here', and the page that 'Texel is annoying' originates from is a book review of the French book Cosmétique de l'ennemi by Amélie Nothomb. It features a guy called Textor Texel, and there's some pretty odd stuff regarding him in the book:

But Texel -- a word-weaver, as his unusual names suggests -- won't be stopped, and he does, in fact, have an unusual life-story to recount. He killed someone, for example -- or at least he felt like he did, when he was eight and prayed that a classmate would die and he found out the next day that the boy had, indeed, died.

I'm cross-referencing this with anything on Beth's archives atm...
