FTP uploader info?

jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesow. what part of "we're not going to play "PMhunt2003"" is so bloody hard to understand? Take it someplace else if that's what you're going to do. Thank you.

Me again, yeah, the original guest who asked about this.

not looking to play "hunt the PMs", just looking to have all the information on the case. If I don't have the information, how can I discern whether it is related to the case or to the PMs? The idea is that if someone else (ie: the forum moderators here) has decided which information we're allowed to discuss and which information we're not, how can we be expected to solve the puzzles? I don't want to 'harrass' the PMs, but even if the tiny piece of information you're witholding could lead me to them, maybe knowing who they were would help me know how they think and I could solve the other puzzles easier. How can I know, if you're witholding information?

As far as going "someplace else" to get this information, could you point the way? I can't find anyone posting anywhere else even trying to get this information out.

or just come post it at CD, where I'm already reading every post.

or email it to me: teelSPLATmodernevil.com

A Cassius is mentioned in one of the little-boxes archives written by Beth so maybe

DND reporter Cassius van der Rijn, noted for his 'conjectural news reportage', wrote that on January 13, a number of people apparently mentioned that they had been telephoned by people they were thinking about. This is a well-known and well-documented coincidental phenomenon, but presumably it is purely chance. On the other hand, it does seem strange that it happened to such a large group of people – and again we see localization, so perhaps there is more to this than pure chance. Perhaps further investigation into this incident is merited. Beyond geographical location, there may have been a connection between the people involved, such as age or past history.

BTW, what's a DND reporter? Embarassed

Trust us - the info posted tells you right off the bat who it who's behind it. I bet the relevant info could be found with just a little searching on other forums.

Could the Also picture be another person announcing their presence? I don't remember seeing anything saying this through the thread. I think that one of these things people are picking up on inside the picture could be a clue as to who is announcing their presence, and I also think that it's probably the most important of the files as it's the least straightforward.

but could the dots on the also be intended to be exactly where they're supposed to be? they looked very ordered to me...

braille?

attached is my attempt at dotting the dots...

http://disserv3.stu.umn.edu/AltForm/brail-guide.html

that's a braille guide chart,

i got "G Y G F B A", or "G Y G F H" from it...
actually there are many more variations if you take into account that you may not be able to see some dots in the white space...

just a bit of a stretch Smile

Could there be ROT encoding involved? I tried a few combinations, nothing consistent, but maybe somebody else could give it a go!?

Taking the texel idea then and combining the dot idea, what about overlaying the dots (like a texture overlaying an object).

You must have seen those spy movies where the decoder is a series of holes in a scap of paper which you overlay a sheet of letters.

Just something for the pot.

all sites down

this may be due to the fact that a few of us discovered that the cassius login worked at metacortechs.com as well, but that ftp wasn't quite so well protected

i know people are gonna freak "behind the curtain" and stuff, but it really was an accidental discovery, whomever is watching took it down really fast

Hey....I was looking back at the binary of the jpeg of the first picture that was on paintover.net, I extracted all the extraneous data and this was left over.
