Thanks a lot, everyone. Rumiko communicated with Eli and now people in the thread might reach some conclusion soon. See also my map. And my candidate, Gallery Saka.

This is great unagi! Hopefully you can call ahead to see if any of these places seem especially likely??

Waiting to hear what happens!

I'm now back home very far away from Tokyo, but three people seem to be going there tomorrow. I suggested them calling, but I wonder if they will call ....

Since we need to swap out voice mails...
I used Audacity to swap some numbers and directions.

The current voice mail says
Start from omphalos 3.
Go 8644 stadia in the direction of Artemis 11
Then 2176 stadia ares 12 to the Ring.
Make your labyrinth in the direction of Aphrodite.

I changed it to read

Start from omphalos 12.
Go 8644 stadia in the direction of Aphrodite 21.
Then 1176 stadia ares 3 to the Ring.
Make your labyrinth in the direction of Artemis.

I think.

Which should start them at parapare (or blois), and then send them west instead of east.

PS. Can someone else upload this to the voice mail?
PPS. And ask James to delete the original?

meanwhile... did anyone upload this to VM, or ask James to delete the original?

I e-mailed James at membersoftheo at gmail.com, and asked him to delete the original directions to the second ring.
Then I called the VM number (646) 5372537 and left the new directions that should send someone off to find the ring somewhere far far away.

James,
I have re-recorded the directions to the Second Ring, and left
them on the Theo VM. Please delete the first voice-mail.
If this is a problem... please delete all voice-mails giving directions
to the Second Ring, and I can leave the message again.

Great, thanks!

Did you find someone to re-record in Armenian? Or did you just alter the file like on the first ring?

I replied back that we just altered the file.
And that we will make sure we get someone to re-record in person as soon as we get a language less obscure than Armenian.

Hint from Eli

Even though this helps only partially, Eli answered my email.

AUZ505 wrote:

Dear Eli,

I guess you already know about the loste ring number 2. Nevertheless I attached the mp3 voice message. It is Armenian and had been translated up to now to this message:

The former location of ring number 2 stadia 8644, position Artemis 11 from the point of view of Omphalos n°3.
I moved it from there to the ring (?) stadia 2176 position Aris 12.
The ring has today been restituted/given back/returned from the 7th position towards the highest point of the outmost path of the (Zakynthos ? Hakynthos ?). At the first turn on the left, 26,183 stadias wide from one end to the other, there were the entrance to the labyrinth is, and also the entrance of the Museum of National Sciences, as well as the entrance of the labyrinth from the point of view of Aphrodite (n° ?) 5.
When you're done, before taking the next step, before giving the ring, you must give its owner (keeper ?) the password.
Tell the Ringkeeper the name of the seventh wife of the husband of the mother of the son of the winner of the two-colt race of the [something / 108th?] Olympiad.
Which led to Tokyo as the actual location. I tried to but a 7 (?) circuit labyrinth with the width of 26.183 stadia and a direction of Aphrodite 5 into the map. The museum of science is assumed to lay at the labyrinth entrance. From the text I thought the entrance is defined as the first left turn (but not sure about it).

But now we do not know what we should look for: Again the center, again a gallery?

Perhaps, as you are a historian, you probably understand some Armenian or know someone who can and check the translation. I assume we are missing or misunderstanding a important bit of information.

Best Regards
AUZ505

Hello [AUZ505],

While I don't understand Armenian, and so I can't be positive, yes, I
would assume for now that another gallery location is being used. It
would seem that Theo is committed to keeping these rings "hidden in
plain sight".

Sincerely yours,

Eli Hunt

So we should look for a gallery again.

My best guess would be based on ancient Greek ways of describing the
geography of labyrinths. The "highest point" is what you would also
call the "peak" of a circuit. The ancients used the term "peak" when
writing about Cretan labyrinths to describe the point of a circuit
that is furthest from the exit. Therefore, it seems that the peak of
the 7th circuit of the labyrinth you've attached in in the outermost
circuit somewhere just above those two 7-11s, like the top of a
triangle if each 7-11 is a point on the triangle as well. If that does
not make sense, please share this theory with other sofias to help you
find the correct location/
All of your other calculations and labyrinth layouts seem quite right
to me, as does the solution to the password that others have sent. So
please let me know if there is a gallery in the vicinity of that
point, and I will wait to hear your successful news of lost ring
recovery!

Could someone explain what a 7-11 is? And where there is a triangle? Thanks in advance.

7-11's are convenience stores (sometimes gas stations).
Google sometimes shows you the locations, much like they show you locations of the McDonald's nearby.

It's the little icons on the attached map http://olympics.wikibruce.com/Image:Map_LostRing2.jpg
They look like red&orange 7's in the middle of a green box.
There are two of them to the left/western end of the line.
We think Eli is saying to create a triangle with the two 7-11's as part of the base.

http://www.7-eleven.com

EDIT: See unagi's map for his version of the triangle with the two 7-Elevens as the base.

Fantastic! Thanks for the updates Unagi, they're really appreciated.

Here's hoping team Tokyo will soon have ring #2!

According to Lunch, Gallery Saka says, somebody, with the password, took away the ring. I hope it's QED, who can't make realtime reports.

EDIT: It's not QED. Lunch and QED is together now.
