[THEO EMAIL] Ring Number 3

Theo wrote:
Hi Everyone,

I've been listening to the voicemails every day for the past week, but while there's a bunch of messages being left, I hadn't heard 'la sesa ringo' again until today. I'm not sure what language it's in... some of the words sound English... but the rest is gibberish to me, I hope you all can figure it out.

So once again I need you all to do the following:

1 - figure out what language this message was recorded in
2 - translate it and figure out what it says
3 - come up with a decoy message
4 - leave the decoy message on the machine

This email came shortly after:

You guys,

I just got this email... Thank goodness I found that third message before this came out... DO THEY KNOW?!? This makes leaving the decoy message WAY more urgent!!

Maybe it'll be ok... but I'm looking over my shoulder a lot more, I'll tell you that!

Yay a new voicemail! Don't immediately recognize the language, but it seems easier to extract out the relevant words with this one.

The English at the end:
Quote:
Tell the ringkeeper the name of the second concert (consort?) of the second grandson of the husband of the mother of our team's ancient founder.

So, working backwards:

1) "our team's ancient founder" = Theodosius
2) 1's mother = Thermantia
3) 2's husband = Theodosius the Elder (i.e., Theodosius' father)
4) 3's second grandson = Flavius Honorius (i.e., Theodosius' second son)
5) 4's second consort = THERMANTIA [Link]

Here's the text of the original message, which James was freaking out about:

Could it be Turkish? I'll try to find out. Damn, all my Turkish neighbours are asleep already ...

The pronunciation made me think of either Arabic or an Indian dialect. Also, the inclusion of quasi-English words makes me think it might be a former English colony - when I was living in Algeria, many French words had made their way into the everyday Arab language of the street. Maybe it's the same in this case, but with English ?

I work alongside a few people of Indian descent. I'll bounce it off them to see if they identify.

*EDIT*
It's Hindi. I have someone here that speaks it, but might be hard pressed to get him to translate it because of the work environment.

Someone else try to get a translator. I'm gonna try to get this guy before he bolts, but I can't be doing this easily in a work environment. And he's technically inept, so he can't do it on his own and I can't expect him to do it on his own in a timely manner anyway.

He's telling me "there's a lot of numbers... is this gambling or something?" Rolling Eyes

I'll see what I can do nonetheless.

You got it? 'cause it's gonna be a nuisance for me to do it right this second.

Here's the file with 200% volume increase, max quality I can get. Might be clearer.

I'm pretty sure this is a randomly generated email address by an email forwarding service (mailexpire.com).

I won't be able to get a translation from this guy today; boss just showed up and decided to sit next to me while we go over things. Mad

Who is 'whiamselfe'?

If you google for "farifluset.mailexpire.com" you will get several email adresses which are "cryptic", e.g.

wrenkervyoSPLATfarifluset.mailexpire.com
deewseecheSPLATfarifluset.mailexpire.com
hebegsounsSPLATfarifluset.mailexpire.com
quailfournSPLATfarifluset.mailexpire.com
...

So it seems that the email adresses are somehow automatically generated and all have 10 letters. So 'whiamselfe' just fits into that pattern.
Nevertheless it could mean something.

[edit] ariock was faster Wink
