[TRAILHEAD] thehumanpet...ARG or something really sick? I can not bring myself to watch the videos, but someone calling him/herself "thehumanpet" is posting comments on OpAphid and other YT profiles:

Can someone with a higher tolerance for this kind of thing check this out and reassure me that, even if it's not an ARG, at least it's not the horrible thing it seems to be?

Well, the description says "an interactive horror story," so yes, I'd say it's something ARGish and you don't have to worry that it's real.
I watched the video, "My Pet Needs To Eat."
The part that just shows the hands looks like a (creepy, solitary) Seder. The music used is the opening of Mozart's Requiem . Which makes for an interesting juxtaposition. (Then again, Passover celebrates the Angel of Death passing over the homes of the Israelites, so if Eric's life hangs in the balance, the juxtaposition of Passover (sparing life) with the Requiem (death) makes a twisted sort of sense.)
No clue on the meaning of the mask on the table.
Haven't watch any of the others, but yes, I'd say it looks ARGish.

In the other 2 videos, he is wearing the mask. Like phantom of the opera if the rest of his face got jacked up.

Or like someone who's committing a crime and so isn't going to show their face on video.

Okay, good! I was afraid to even go to the descriptions of the individual videos (I did after reading your post, but that's as far as I think I'll go). I still don't think I'll be able to watch... I used to be able to deal with horror imagery, but for some reason I just can't anymore.

Although this might be a ARG, I would advise not getting involved. It's too risky if this ends up being real, even if this guy claims it's a ARG. I wouldn't want to get involved in what could be some sick psychopath's way of getting his jollies....

I hear ya, I had to leave the room during the torture scene in the pilot of Alias , so I'm as wussy as they come.
But basically all that was in the video I watched was a teenage or young adult guy sitting on a bare mattress saying "I really need to eat; is it ransom you want? my parents have money," and so on, interspersed with views of someone conducting what looked like a Seder with just their hands showing, and a mask lying on a table.
Nothing gruesome.
The concept is pretty sick, however, and I haven't watched the others...

This is really sick Whats even more gruesome - how many subscribers this guy's video has in about a week of being online. Ugh!

It looks like he's beyond being upset. He's been there for a least a week.
What one solid food has the nutrients to keep a man alive?

Time for the noob question of the day.
Has there ever been a case where something creepy that looked like an arg, ended up not being an arg?
I keep seeing people saying they rather stay away from things in fear they may be some sick thing. But is this just people being precautious, or are there any past incident people are afraid of repeating?
EDIT: Just to add some more to the horror mood: How creepy it is that this guy saw 2,321 videos in one week?

Not that I know of -- when there's confusion I think it's usually the other way around: people believe a viral campaign or ARG is real.

Well if no one else has the stomach to watch them as they come out, I will volunteer there is no accountability if something were to actually hurt the guy. Its advertised as a fictional horror and it is October (Halloween). I am down to have a little Saw action on youtube. And it seems to have a more attractive storyline than LG15 (at least to me, I like the darker storys).
It puts the lotion on its skin.
