Well, if you are correct, then that means the next clue will come probably on July 11th because that's an anniversary of when the story of R:FOM began with Hale in the US invasion of England.

One nice thing about knowing it's a 42 campaign. You have faith in the quality of the product and that puzzles will be obvious.

I think the next clue is "hidden in plain sight" as that's what 42 Entertainment does and state in their website. It definitely has something to do with the Blackout page. Taking the "black" "out" of the page leads to the tiles and edges of the table. So, there has to be the next clue somewhere around there.

Yeah, we kinda figured it would be a "hidden in plan sight" thing, and people are currently removing the black, but you were the first one to confirm it, so you get props.

If you use the slider on the map here, and go to the 5th mark from the right and click the doorway you can watch a video touring what looks to be a medical room. Not sure if theres any connection, but I find it interesting.

Here it is for the people that dont want to venture to the site. Not very good quality but you get the point.

(And this is really all just humble opinion so please do feel free to take what I say with a grain of salt or ignore me completly)

I just wanted to give a side note to anyone who's new at this (or even anyone who's new to a 42 Entertainment backed ARG). From what I've seen both in NIN: Year Zero and The Dark Knight: Why So Serious campaigns, 42E isn't generally convoluted about their puzzles. Finding the puzzles that need to be solved is usually very easy. For example in this game, once the GamePro magazine was released, the puzzles were easily identifiable as puzzles (now, solving them is a different matter entirely). In the other campaigns as well, there was always a strong indication of something new.

What I'm trying to say is that as cool as all this discussion is -- the phantom face in the window, images in the table's woodgrain, morse code in belt buckles, phone numbers out of fingers -- I think there's a very low chance of it leading anywhere. I just don't want anyone to get so frustrated thinking that there's something to solve right this instant that they get fed up and leave disappointed.

A news article said that the bulk of the game is going to last 12 weeks, the end of which is likely going to coincide very closely with the release of Resistance 2. So we've got a long while! Especially since the first site just went live. As a reference, in TDK, the first true puzzles happened in mid-May then nothing happened again until the end of July. And even in the middle of the game there were times that nothing would happen for a week.

So I'm fairly sure that when 42 is ready for the game to move forward, it's going to be (somewhat) obvious. Whether it's an email, a phonecall, a package, a change in the sourcecode, a new video, a new strange site that's discovered, etc. We'll know that a new puzzle has emerged that needs to be solved.

Anyway, that was just a really long explaination to say that we may just have to be patient and give the game a little time to unfold. However, there's also a very large chance that I have no frickin clue what I'm talking about and should have about as much attention paid to me as a squawking parrot! So, all that said and done... CARRY ON! Laughing

Hmmm...

Now I don't know what to do... my pirate side tells me to go forward, but my Ninja side is telling me to wait for the ambush.

That medical room is in England, if I'm not mistaken, right before you fight all of those Grey Jacks that come out of those suspension chambers. Thanks for the link! This site is very efficient.

For some reason, Grey Jacks sound tasty... Flap Jacks?

Agreed. I think if there was something we need to find in the Blackout page we would have found it by now.

Oh man, I certainly didn't mean to stop all talk cold! Seriously guys! I was just trying to warn people against driving themselves nuts. That doesn't mean that we won't at least have some fun looking into all the possible intricacies and story background.

On that note, anyone who's interested can watch all of Resistance: Fall of Man's cutscenes to get a little background.

Also, I was thinking; the GetAWarJob site and phone message says to "Visit your local recruiting office for more details." Is it possible that this is an actual suggestion? Anyone brave enough to give a call / walk in to a local army recruiting office and see what they have to say? (Maybe it should be a female...wouldn't want to accidentally get anyone enlisted Shocked )

Lol! Of course I do. But I've also seen firsthand the difference in their pressuring tactics between men and women.

Probably just ask if they know anything about resistance the game, but I don't think they would since there are thousands of recruiting offices in the US and other parts of the world.

Uh, I highly, highly doubt 42's made a deal with the US military to play along with this game. I would strongly advise to not randomly walk into a recruitment office if you don't want people staring and/or yelling at you.

This. I would advise against it.
