I wonder how you could pull off an XKCD ARG? Hide a clue in one of the comics, I would guess.

That would be brilliant Laughing

I actually was really hoping this one would be a trailhead when I first saw it XD

Dammit, Randall, what's taking you so long to put out an ARG? XD

House of Leaves was enough of an experience, haha. I am not sure I could take an entire ARG of that insanity!

Harry Dresden would make an awesome ARG.

Not quite sure how it would work, but a Fallout ARG would be pretty cool I think. Smile

I hate to bump old threads but I really want to see a Repo! ARG, that would be amazing. Maybe Ultraviolet

There are only two series that I'd love to see an alternate reality game created for.

Metal Gear - I think this ARG should be based with the players working with Philantrophy to gather intelligence against Liquid's whereabouts, and maybe the location of the missing Metal Gear, just in time for April 30th, 2009; when Metal Gear Solid 2 starts. The majority of the game would be collecting intelligence from various Web 2.0 sources: blogs, video and image hosting sites, etc..

Death Note - A conflict between two teams of players. One team could work with L, trying to catch the mysterious Kira among the many impersonators; while another team sides with Kira attempting to unravel the identity, face and real name of L.

Well, I'm for House of leaves Smile
I mean, even if the book was great, scary and hyper-intensive, Mark Z. Danielewski could use ARG to promote his next books, since there is this cool interactive forum for Only revolutions, where he already used participation of readers in his novel.

Another thing, we had with sirpoins an idea about ARG to Mothman ARG.
I mean, plenty of documents, shaky camera videos, witness reports and behind of this great conspiration. Since Mothman is present in usual Wikipedia and is kinda urban legend, it could be more authentic to make a story about it.

Another idea for ARG were really something cyberpunkish (but not only about hacking webpages, but with great and philosophic story).

Oh, people, I can't stop with my ideas, there are just too many interesting themes for an ARG.

P.S. A new good ARG to LOST and Fringe were cool to, btw Smile I mean, an ARG, a real one... You know, what I mean.

I agree, there's a lot of potential for a mothman mystery!

I also like the cyberpunkish idea...There was talk about making Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon into a movie, but who knows...

If they do make Y:The Last Man into a movie, I'd like to see that as an ARG..

Also, D-9, I'd just like to see that one continue!

I recently tried to convince Gabe at Penny Arcade to do one, or do one for him anyway. Still hoping I can convince him.

After reading this Penny Arcade strip, I can't see them exactly jumping at the opportunity.

Tycho was really into ilovebees, though. So it sort of changes up the angle of that particular strip, I think. Smile

edited to add a tiny bit of the evidence:
