Press reports have suggested that some of the ideas for the next film include a prequel that would go into the backstory of the creature that attacks New York in the original or a parallel story set on the same night with different characters. Reeves said that both of those ideas have been under discussion.

The thing that I keep thinking about whenever the discussion of possible other video from the night of the attack is the military. The military had cameras on their helmets. Almost every soldier I saw with a helmet on had a camera.

It's just a thought.

but there was also a guy on the brooklyn bridge that had a camera. and remember there were a couple other people with cameras at robs party. and ofcourse the news crew always has a camera man. so really theres so many ways that you could show the movie from a different point of view

Yes. I know this. I was merely stating another way for them to detail the same night. I just didn't recall any real discussion of this, that's all.

Hmm, Reeves said that it would be "boring" to do the handy-cam thing again. If they are doing a sequel (which I don't think will happen) they will do the more traditional thing I think.

Yeah. I personally would love to see that, but with elements of the handy cam, either using footage periodically throughout the movie or possibly something like Children of Men.

I also think that even if they were working on a sequel they wouldn't just be like "Hey guys! We're filming the sequel! It's comes out _____!" Just my opinion though. I think the correct phrase is "They enjoy driving us batshit insane!" Smile

Well, this appears to be the end of anything even remotely interesting regarding Cloverfield for the indefinite future. I had a good time following this while it lasted, but there's nothing left for me here except trolls and old bumped topics, so I must say my adieu.
y'all take care.

i am one of those who wants a sequel really bad, but i am really glad to read that they are taking their time and staying as far away as they can from recycled ideas.

yeah that sounds really cool and all but Matt Revees said on the movie commentary he said it would still look like the "eye of god" as he refered as to meaning the camera guy would not be effected by what was going on

well i win too because i dont want a true sequel like some people here... a true sequel would mean that Rob and Beth are still alive in the aftermath of cloverfield that story would continue and we wouldnt know what is exactly going yet
