[Training] London, 29th June with Ariadne (& Jane too)
& possible City Labyrinth attempt

Folks, come to London, Sunday 29th June for a Training event with Ariadne and Jane McGonigal! (Eli confirmed Ariadne will be coming)

3pm Hayward Gallery overhang, South Bank Centre.

more info on Janes Blog

and heres the listing for the training event on the Hide and Seek festival. Upcoming link too

Also, if you are coming and would like to participate in a London City Labyrinth, before or after (probably involving a 4 mile walk), add a reply too!

I'm jumping into this game incredibly late apparently! I've read the 'story so far' on the wiki - although that only seems to take me up to about the end of April - what's happened since then?

Anyway, I'm in London, so I'll be making tracks to the event on Sunday, and I'm totally up for a City Labyrinth.

The timeline should help you to find out more - last entry made yesterday!

Thanks Smile Seems I only read the first page of the timeline last time... d'oh!

So Team Theo, what's the deal there? I feel inclined to oppose them since they're working against Aridane etc - except their rationale seems understandable.

I still think Theo are meanies, but there seems to be a bunch of room to play both sides of the fence Laughing

Markus is also attending, I guess he's coming out of his shell now and slowly becoming thumos-like?

I have lots of questions that I would like to ask Markus, infact it is a long list. I guess the only way to answer those is by him doing a personal lab. Is it possible to ask him and also tell him the correct way of doing it?

And also say hi to Alex! Very Happy

Sorry, I saw this too late to post any questions. Busy weekend ... So - TELL US! What happened? Did you manage to set any new records? What did Alex tell you? Was Markus really there?

Hi guys. I haven't been following along much (despite collecting the London Codex), but I did go today and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I heard that Team London broke a World Record. But I'll let someone else confim that incase I'm wrong.

Good to meet a few more Unfictioners, Jane and Ariadne.

new record!

Well, I met Ariadne, or Alex, as she likes to be known. A nice girl, if a bit shy and/or bewildered - she was also incredibly bronzed! Smile Alas, she had to dash off to cardiff at the end.

We talked a short bit about Markus, and if he was meant to be attending, however, there was no sign of Theo activity or anything else, for that matter.

In fact, the whole day was more about the Games, rather than the game. But we had a good time - There were many many players, and we broke the world record for the 7-circuit Olympic sized lab!! (by about 15 seconds)

Yep, I ran in a few of them, but rested my legs for a bit during the winning run and cheered the folks on. The runner was a young lad. Perhaps the smaller the runner, the better?

Maybe, if we are lucky (we can but speculate) some of the runners and walls will find this lowly site and post more information, and their own experiences.

Here's a pic of the times:

and some of the runners,

with more on this Flickr set. including a few of Jane giving directions, and Ariadne/Alex looking lonely in the background.

There appeared to be only me there who knew why she was present (excl. the organisers & Jane et al), and I was in a mischievous mood so did tease her a bit too much Wink, but I thought up the following afterwards: "you know Method Acting? Well I'm part of the Method Audience".

Hi Guys,

I was there too, one of the groups set a new world record for the competition size labrynth. Can't remember what it was though...
How many UF members do we have based in London... Should we be organising a London City Labrynth? Sorry I haven't been following UF as close as I'd have liked... been a tricky couple of months...
