James has just sent a new e-mail.

Quote:
OK everyone... I know that MrJudkins is within HOURS of picking up whatever it is that he's going to find in Wellington...and I can't WAIT to hear what he finds... but I checked the voicemail again tonight to see if there was anything about the decoy message you all left... nothing... phew...

but there was the attached message. Am I crazy? or did I hear La Sesa Ringo in there?!? I have no idea what language it is in though...

Anyways, I copied it to my computer again but didn't delete it this time...but if this is what I think it is, then I'll go in and delete it, and we should find someone to leave a new message in its place.

Let me know what you all think!

-James

I will post the audio file as soon as I find out how to do it Razz Do you think we should make a new thread for this message?

I was JUST about to post the mp3 myself. Thanks lhall. Smile

The English part in the last ten seconds goes something like this:

"Tell the ring keeper the name of the seventh wife of the husband of the mother of the son of the winner of the two cold(?) chariot race of the ??? Olympiad."

The english part at the end:

Quote:
Tell the Ringkeeper the name of the seventh wife of the husband of the mother of the son of the winner of the two-colt race of the [something] Olympiad.

The two-horse chariot race was an event in the ancient Olympics.

There only seems to be one known winner of the race that has anything to do with anyone that has seven wives, and that is Philip II of Macedonia, who happens to be Alexander the Great's father. Alexander's mother was Olympias, but Philip II's seventh wife was named Cleopatra.

I found all this out through a complex series of Google searches that can't be easily summarized in one link. Perhaps others can confirm.

Matches what I found in my searching as well.

The Hellenic News of America wrote:
King Philip II was an Olympic champion three times. In the 106th Olympics, in 356 BCE, he won the race, riding his horse. In the 107th Olympics, in 352 BCE, he won the four-horse chariot race. In the 108th Olympics, in 348 BCE, he was the winner of the two colt chariot.

Tell the ring keeper the name of the seventh wife (Cleopatra/Eurydice) of the husband (King Philip II) of the mother (Olympias) of the son (Alexander the Great) of the winner (King Philip II) of the two-colt chariot race of the 108th (Very Happy) Olympiad.

Actually, he COULD be saying 108 (one-oh-eight) Olympiad, so yeah!

Perfect! We have the password...
Now to the other part of the message. Does anyone know which language(s) is it? James said he heard "La Sesa Ringo" and I think I heard "kaj" so it may be Esperanto...

I had my sister (background in middle eastern archaeology) take a listen to the message over the phone. She's pretty sure the language is Persian. However, it's too fast for her to translate.

I've emailed it to my step-brother's American/Persian wife. Hopefully she can translate. She seems to think it might be a dialect of some sort...
(meaning she might need to have a friend of hers do it)
