New responses: Condestine Tower is the site of the Prison.

John is the "him" that must be awoken.

I asked another question and this time the response was above my questions. Meta moment:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It would seem the pm team can't keep a form straight {sometimes it is respone above question, sometimes below, sometimes they respond Q&A style - or is that user edit?}

SO. So far, they have referenced how many other games? Year Zero was obvious, now I would compare it to ILB a bit {the ghost wakes up then goes back to the database = Sleeping Princess, yes?} i saw some people said others were too. I'm curious how many others were.

my replies have been below the whole list of questions, answered in the order they were asked...assuming they deemed them worthy of answering

i just feel the Q&A format makes things easier to read for us

I asked
"What does Birth By Sleep mean?"

and the response I got was

Quote:
Exactly as it says.

Not particularly illuminating, sorry

My first round of questions

Tower is Prison.
No
Yes, look closer.
You and I, if eros prevails.

My second round

Quote:

No.

No but I am keeping close watch on her.

No, the Alvan Experiments did.

The latest:

13 wrote:
Q: Where was John last seen?
A: In a dream.

Q: Where should I begin my search?
A: Look for new meaning in old riddles. Find the second location.

Perhaps the last riddle- the haiku/latin?

No.

Just went back through the entire thread looking for things we might have overlooked. I came on late so I got a little lost. The Weebly thing was all accounted for, right. Nothing ever came of tattooed muscle guy I don't think. Once the Boston part of it ended, everything started coming so fast that I'm not sure what's relevent and what is not. I guess we can rule out base-13 to find the second location, though.

I never saw http://13lights.com mentioned anywhere, either.

That's because it hasn't been. Good find!

Tattoo guy turns out to be from a presumably different ARG. Check out the Luce's Lover's Eye thread.

Well, if we solve this, someone somewhere is going for a hike:

13 wrote:

Q: Must the second location be found in the physical realm, or does it exist solely in the virtual world?
A: It is in the same realm as your so-called Boston.

Q: With Boston no longer in scope, this leaves much ground to be covered. Will one of us who is searching for John need to visit this second location?
A: Of course.

And good find with 13lights.com! How the hell did we overlook THAT?

With 14 hours to go, make of this what you will... I'm off to spend 8 otherwise:

13 wrote:
Q: A haiku received in Boston mentioned "Reopening Liberty"... at the time, we thought it a Boston reference. Does it in any way refer to the large statue in our so-called New York?
A: Broaden your search. Look to your west.

Q: To MY west lies a large body of water that we call an ocean. Quite literally... I can see it from here. It is known as the Pacific. The same riddle that included the line "Reopening Liberty" also included the phrase "Mare Pacificum". Is this phrase relevant to my search?
A: Look to your west. Your time is growing short.

Maybe the pacific is important? I'm at a loss.

ETA: I hate "eureka" moments as I drift to sleep (pun there... wait for it...)

"Aurum in Pax, Ferreus in Bellum" = "Gold in Peace, Iron in War". Or, in Spanish: "Oro en Paz, Fierro en Guerra". Which is the San Francisco city motto. Which, of course, is on the "Mare Pacificum".

That's too long a drive for me, if this even proves relevant. Anyone here a local?

ETA2: BINGO

13 wrote:
Q: So if "mare pacificum"= Pacific Ocean...
And "aurum in pax, ferreus in bellum"= "Gold in Peace, Iron in War"... which is the San Francisco city motto...
Should we be looking San Francisco ?

A: You are a smart anomoly.

Of course, we still need to narrow that down a bit...

Great work PostLarval! Who'd think to translate Latin to Spanish? Not me. I'll go dig for a bit and see if I can narrow anything...

Thanks =)

The best thing you can do now is question, question, question:

13 wrote:
Q: Now... must we wake John before the 42 hours end, or is the 42 hours simply the time we have to question you?

A: Eleven hours remain for my questioning. Your search to awaken him will last much longer. You have no shortage of time, only of information. All you need to know is before you. Find it.

So ask anything and everything you can think of before the timer runs out!

Yes sir! I just sent about 15 questions ranging from "Warden in the religious sense?" to "North or south of Market?" We'll see if anything comes of it.

Looking at 13.com, I noticed an 'anomoly' in the image. See attached. (The black box). Ideas? Camo and stegdetect both come up negative...

Meta: 1. Has anyone put that whompin' video on youtube? 2. If people will help me figure out what's important I'll put a mini-wiki on the first post (URLs, emails, whatever.) 3. Do we have a name yet? Or should we wait for the next set of numbers? Rolling Eyes Confused

Drunkard's Walk wasn't quite as silly as it sounded... It's a random search pattern (among other things), which seems appropriate so far. See 'Random Walk' on wiki if interested in that kind of thing. Not that I'm promoting that you understand. /meta
