Which means that Sapagoo's spec on the text from Ring 1 was bang on. Very Happy

Win!

I guess this means we can find out the final message without sending the rings back after all! Wink

Since "eleven" seems to be expressed only as "dek unu" in Esperanto, I think it might be the most natural to connect the sections simply in the order of Ring 1, 2 and 3.

KVIN, KAJ UNU ATLETOJ PLENUMADI, DEK UNU PER DESEGNAĴO; LA PLEJ GRAVA LUDO
(five, and one athletes fulfill, eleven by design; the most important game)
VOJAĜI. LA MONDO DEVAS LINIIĜI PRESKAŬ PERFEKTE. KALKULU LA CELON.
(voyage. the world must align almost perfectly. calculate the goal.)
REVENU AL VIA HEJMO DUM LA FERMANTAJ CERIMONIOJ FLAGRU! PROVU LA PLEJ PROKSIMAN
(return to your home during the closing ceremonies flare! find the most proximal)

FLAGRU! (flare! - this is imperative) is the most difficult to put in the current place.
(I'm asking Marina if what follows PERFEKTE is a comma or a period.)
(EDIT: Marina confirmed it's a period.)

That "five, and one athletes fulfill" phrase at the start keeps making me think of how we aparently had one of the six codex-writing athletes stay behind.

Eli in his seventh podcast wrote:
About the sculpture itself, this much is known - it was composed of five interlocked rings, cast in metal. Supposedly they were not welded together, but rather, they could be detached one from another and put back together easily.

I wonder why the rings don't look like able to be put back together easily.

Well, they don't look "cast" to me, so I think that podcast description doesn't quite fit what we're finding. On the other hand, I think detaching and putting them back together doesn't refer to taking individual rings apart- just separating the five rings and then recombining them onto the olympic logo sculpture.

Adding the new sesa sections from Rings #4 & #5 to what we had previously:

Ring #1 (blue):
Esperanto wrote:
KVIN, KAJ UNA
VOJAĜI. LA MONDO
REVENU AL VIA HEJMO

translation wrote:
FIVE AND ONE
TRAVEL. THE WORLD
RETURN TO YOUR HOME

Ring #2 (yellow):
Esperanto wrote:
ATLETOJ PLENUMADI, DEK
DEVAS LINIIOXI PRESKAU PERFEKTE,
DUM LA FERMANTAJ CERIMONIOJ

translation wrote:
ATHLETES FULFILL TEN
MUST ALIGN ALMOST PERFECT
DURING THE CLOSING CEREMONIES

Ring #3 (black):
Esperanto wrote:
UNU PER DESEGNAĴO; LA PLEJ GRAVA LUDO
KALKULU LA CELON.
FLAGRU! PROVU LA PLEJ PROKSIMAN

translation wrote:
ONE BY DESIGN MOST IMPORTANT GAME
CALCULATE THE GOAL
FLARES! FIND THE MOST CLOSEST

Ring #4 (green):
Esperanto wrote:
KVARDEK. VETKURADOJ
ĜI ESTAS. LA SUMO DE SPORTO
MONUMENTAN ONDON KE TRA

translation wrote:
FORTY RUNNING
IT IS THE SUM OF SPORTS
MONUMENTAL WAVE THAT THROUGH

Ring #5 (red):
Esperanto wrote:
FOR DE LA MALFERMANTAJ
SUB LA PLEJALTA LIMO
KIU VI POVAS VOJAĜI.

translation wrote:
FROM THE OPENING CEREMONIES
BELOW THE HIGHEST LIMIT
YOU WHO CAN TRAVEL

So, with all the pieces together, and putting the texts in the order of the olympic rings (blue, yellow, black, green and red), it looks something like...
Code:

KVIN, KAJ UNA ATLETOJ PLENUMADI, DEK UNU PER DESEGNAĴO; LA PLEJ GRAVA LUDO KVARDEK. VETKURADOJ FOR DE LA MALFERMANTAJ
VOJAĜI. LA MONDO DEVAS LINIIOXI PRESKAU PERFEKTE, KALKULU LA CELON. ĜI ESTAS. LA SUMO DE SPORTO SUB LA PLEJALTA LIMO
REVENU AL VIA HEJMO DUM LA FERMANTAJ CERIMONIOJ FLAGRU! PROVU LA PLEJ PROKSIMAN MONUMENTAN ONDON KE TRA KIU VI POVAS VOJAĜI.

Does it all together make any sense for the speranto speakers?

*Dav Flamerock reads in an epic voice:

FIVE AND ONE ATHLETES FULFILL, ELEVEN BY DESIGN: THE MOST IMPORTANT SPORT.
FORTY RUNNING FROM THE OPENING CEREMONIES TRAVEL.
THE WORLD MUST ALIGN ALMOST PERFECTLY.
CALCULATE THE GOAL--IT IS THE SUM OF THE SPORT BELOW THE HIGHEST LIMIT.
RETURN TO YOUR HOME DURING THE CLOSING CEREMONIES.
FLARE!
FIND THE CLOSEST MONUMENTAL WAVE THAT THROUGH YOU MUST TRAVEL.

And we have a winner. The goal is the sum of all the labyrinths being run on all the worlds--the sum of the sport below the upper limit. Through the Olympics we will be saved--and our athletes will go home.

In other news, I hear the rings are en-route to James and Kai for further investigation Very Happy

Maybe when the 5 rings are together, it will make more sense.

And Dav, can you change the translation of "FLAGRU! " to Flares or something to that effect? Since the codex mentions using Flares to navigate, I would keep it in the translation , even if Shine might make as much sense.

I can certainly change it back. Just trying to make some sense of the matter. Which I guess is difficult when it's not supposed to immediately make sense Razz

I red some posts doubting about the colour of ring #4: is the GREEN one.

Well, technically, the 'flares' they were talking about in the codex were metaphorical flares, not actual signal flares-- they were talking about doing a sort of fancy, complicated movement to synchronize the worlds-- and that would act as a sort of signal flare.

The third line should be:
Quote:
Return to your home during the closing ceremonies! Flare! Find the most proximal monumental wave through which you can voyage!
because "TRA KIU VI" isn't "through you who". KIU is who/which.

The first line might be:
Quote:
Six athletes fulfill eleven by drawing a 7-circuit labyrinth forty stadia away from the opening ceremonies
because the most important sport is a 7-ciircuit labyrinth, and stadia mean running races (VETKURADOJ). And I remember
Ch. 25 wrote:
We now know how far the last labyrinth must be from the site of the opening ceremony.
