Misdirection for Lost Rings 3-5

So, when I e-mailed James to ask him to delete the original voice mail, he responded "Did you find someone to re-record in Armenian? Or did you just alter the file like on the first ring?"

That tells me that James expected us to re-record the voice-mail in Armenian.
Which got me thinking.
If THEO only knows the name and language of the contact that is moving the lost rings, maybe having someone re-record the next 3 messages in the original language is possible.

NOTE: I fully expect the next 3 languages to be Navajo, Swahili and an Aboriginal dialect. ( since one language from each continent would be appropriate). Although Quecha from South America would also be equally evil.

As such, we can tailor our message, sending Theo anywhere (instead of just into the middle of the ocean).
I would be more than happy to modify the text of the next message (assuming we can get a speaker to translate the original voice-mail to English, and are willing to re-record a fake message).
I would like to send Theo to one of us, a volunteer. Someone who works or lives someplace where we can hide a "ring" in plain sight.

Someone who works in a Gallery would be bonus points, but if you just own a hardware store and would be able to put a ring of some kind ( a toy ring from a gumball machine, an old donut, a rusted metal wheel, an origami wreath, anything) in a window in plain sight, and could handle if some stranger came by to give you the "password."

We wouldn't be restricted by the original text. I can pick any omphalos, go any direction any distance, to pick the city. Then find a local attraction and make that the entrance to the virtual labyrinth, and determine the correct size of the labyrinth, and angle orientation to make your location the center of the virtual labyrinth.

If you don't work in an actual Gallery, we can put the type of place in the instructions. (I wonder what Navajo for "The lost ring is at the McDonald's at the center of the labyrinth." )

I am opening this thread up for volunteers, and suggestions.

I think this is a great idea! I work in an office, so little help there, unless they want to come up and be buzzed in. (If it comes to it, our CEO is an art collector with displays in our front windows, so I could handle a donut or hubcap or something. But I am sure there will be other people responding who have the resources to do this.) So I will do my best to help wrangle language resources and whatever else is needed. Smile

This sounds like fun! I'm not sure if San Diego - La Jolla in particular - is near enough to any omphalos to work, but if it is, there are a TON of galleries here - and one on the first floor of the building I work in. I'm sure I could get them to display an "artifact" for Theo Smile

Aboridginal would be almost impossible , id rule it out.
1. there are so many dielects (try like several hundered)
2. they all differ
3. not commonly spoken (like even in some aboridginal comunities)
4. the chance of us finding someone to speak it at all not even the right dielect is very slim

Those reasons make me even MORE convinced they'll use it.
They'll find a dialect where only 2 people on the planet can speak it fluently, and they'll have one under contract, and we'll be expected to find the other person.

And don't forget that the language for a ring might not belong to the corresponding continent. Armenian for the Asian Ring showed us that.

OK, I'm exaggerating here, but provided those two people aren't just the only speakers, but also the only ones able to understand that dialect, then they's automatically both be members of Theo, wouldn't they? Since the only person they's be able to communicate with would be the respective other ... Laughing

Third message has been received.

1. Who can display a fake ring in plain sight? We have three more rings to acquire and I'm assuming misdirect Theo about. If so, the three sites should be on different continents.
2. What will the fake ring be? This isn't exactly a minor issue. Theo probably knows it is metal. What could we possibly provide that would be believable? And in the extreme case, reproducible on three continents?

This seems like a tall order to me.

Something made form a old car/bike tire could be used (metallic and approx. the right size)
