I think what we are witnessing is Chaotic Fiction as an art form, in a visual media on the internet (as oppose to a static collage of photos placed on a canvas and compared to written CF like WWO or Day of Zombies).

The fluidity of the webpage mixing the order of the eyes makes it chaotic. The random "player" generated content makes it chaotic. I guess it isn't fiction. Maybe time for a new term: Chaotic Art perhaps?

There may never be any written story (but the recordings confuse me). And the long countdown. Perhaps they are collecting as many eyes as possible and then it will be installed as an exhibit at the Smithsonian? Maybe on a video screen? Seems really off the wall and unique. I'm very intrigued where this will go.

I propose that we label things with various forms of the word "Fun."

In order to differentiate, you could say, "That was Fun+!" or "Fun with a splash of lime!" and maybe even "That was Funnnnnn, but that other game was Funneriest, since it was Polka Dot Fun in 3/4 Time."

I can always buy more filing cabinets.

kona, I was just thinking the same thing... if they're promoting an art museum, what better way than to make the campaign art itself? Our first impression is to send in literal "eye"s. Since they've allowed non-self, non-human, even non-"eye" submissions, I think they're leaving it open for user-generated creative content. No harm in testing the waters, yes? How far will they go in allowing people to submit "eye"-related images? Even the audio is an ever-evolving, ever-changing piece. At what point will voices no longer be distinguishable, and the phrase be a relatively singular 'voice' composed of many?

It is interesting in and of itself... who knows if there will be more to come after countdown or if this, as you say, is all there will be... but if this becomes an art exhibit, that's pretty intriguing

Then why the phone call? What does that have to do with a collage of eyes and personal interpretations? Why the body builder?

I don't buy it.. I still think there is a game here.

I don't remember if myself or someone else posted on this. There is also an art form that took place in the late 18th century known as Lover's Eye Portraits. Maybe they are going to have an exhibition and this will tie into it in the beginning? Good article either way...

Yaha, that's an interesting article and while I'm hoping that there will be ARG ARG here and not just another viral(for an exhibition) the first Eye Level blog entry also portrays one of the eyes at "Ghosts of a Chance" mounted as an "eye brooch".

They posted my eye today.

I was clicking around on the pictures and looking at the filenames. Mine appears to be the only one that isn't named 'eye<number>' or something similar. It shows up as the same filename I sent it in with, which was 'SchummboTiredEye.jpg'

Not that I'm saying this means anything, other than they obviously realize that I'm a very special person Very Happy

When my eye was first put up, it had the same filename as I'd given it. This is true of at least two other eyes that I've noticed, and I suspect it's true of all of them. I wonder why they're renaming them with eye#?

I sent in my eye as eye.jpg
It was renaimed as eye8.jpg
I think that it's just their naming protocol
