Thanks for the thoughts, all.
But... You know... Technically, I didn't comply with the rules.

If that were MY eye, I'd be some kind of internet child prodigy.
If it were my lover's eye, I'd be going to jail.

(Madeleine is/was only 5)

Like the all seeing eye is my lover? I WISH. Maybe then George and his buddies would visit a bit more often, and wouldn't leave so quickly when they did stop by.

Called the number and gave my incantation.. it's thundering and lightninging here, so pretty creepy.

Did anyone hear a lot of "Clutch me, clutch me, just say it"? I can't really tell, what with the thunder and bad quality.

EDT:

Checked around on the poem a bit. It's from the first scene in Romeo and Juliet, between Romeo & Benvolio

Quote:
ROMEO
Alas, that love, whose view is muffled still,
Should, without eyes, see pathways to his will!
Where shall we dine? O me! What fray was here?
Yet tell me not, for I have heard it all.
Here's much to do with hate, but more with love.
Why, then, O brawling love! O loving hate!
O any thing, of nothing first create!
O heavy lightness! serious vanity!
Mis-shapen chaos of well-seeming forms!
Feather of lead, bright smoke, cold fire,
sick health!
Still-waking sleep, that is not what it is!
This love feel I, that feel no love in this.
Dost thou not laugh?

BENVOLIO
No, coz, I rather weep.

ROMEO
Good heart, at what?

BENVOLIO
At thy good heart's oppression.

ROMEO
Why, such is love's transgression.
Griefs of mine own lie heavy in my breast,
Which thou wilt propagate, to have it prest
With more of thine: this love that thou hast shown
Doth add more grief to too much of mine own.
Love is a smoke raised with the fume of sighs;
Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers' eyes;
Being vex'd a sea nourish'd with lovers' tears:
What is it else? a madness most discreet,
A choking gall and a preserving sweet.
Farewell, my coz.

Romeo's talking about his unrequited love for Rosalin (actually, I don't remember the spelling on that, and am lazy..) and his envy for those who she does engage, much like the description on teh picture about jealous eyes.

I don't know if it relates at all, but I felt it was worth mentioning.

Yup. I hope we've got a few people who know Shakespeare pretty well, 'coz there seems to be a bit of a Shakespeare thing. First Romeo and Juliet, then Macbeth.

I tried doing a quick search to see if there was any major connection between Luce and Shakespeare, but the closest I got connection-wise was that there's a Nature Observatory named for Luce and a garden called Shakespeare Garden in Central Park.

Sent in my eye (and it is indeed mine). The fellow on the line sounds like an actor of some sort. "This will be my greatest performance", the incantation, eyes....

are we calling some dead shakespearean actor back from that sleep of death, whose bourne from which, perhaps, certain travellers can after all return?

"They like me... They really like me!"

Somebody must've looked-up how much I've spent on Smithsonian Magazine subscriptions over the years.

Has anybody been able to fully understand the phone call? All I could really hear was a lot of k sounds. I made out the bit about reciting the line, but that's all.
