Okay, I just signed up (I was otherwise obsessed yesterday).

I use a Mac, though, so I couldn't download the AA Encryptor. I hope it's not necessary Confused

So far, it looks like goofy fun, but not exactly what I was expecting.

AA= Advertising agency. Apparently some of our tasks are influenced by customers. We'll probably have to go out and advertise the damn brands that call in to AA.

The Mono project (http://www.mono-project.com/Main_Page) is basically .Net for Mac/Linux; it runs the AA Encryptor fine for me. Smile

Thanks -- I'll have to try and find my OSX install discs now so I can install X11.

To all new agents

We apologise for the error in points recording today. We have fixed
the problem, and hopefully it should not occur again. Anybody who has
submitted tasks and not awarded points will shortly be awarded by my
colleage, Agent White.

Thank you for your patience

Ive earnt my points for today so looks like they are getting up to date again.

Edit - New update

Quote:
Only 3 days into the new system and we already have a customer willing to pay for your services. You should feel lucky. The full details of your first real mission are as follows:

You are to create a new cipher. It should be fairly simple, but complex enough such that a short message would be undecipherable, without the method of course. A 3 to 4 stage process is most desirable. It must be original - decryption of existing ciphers is too easy these days.

Our customer has requested that all potential cipher methods be sent to him, so the email address to send them to is different today. You should send all submissions to threehundredseventynineSPLATgmail.com

Good luck working for 379, and I hope you make him happy. For your sake.

EDIT: Some additional details; there are no points for this mission, but you may work as a team. We want top quality work for our actual customers.

That's a tall order. Any ideas? I have a Mac and haven't yet tried getting the AA encrypter to see if there's anything I can do with it.

The encryption program is pretty simple once you get used to it - use the "import keys" command in the _File menu to add keys to the program (the .aak files).

"Open encrypted file" will open files encoded with those keys - the program should detect which key is needed, so long as you have the appropriate key already added to the program.

"Decode Image" will unscramble images with the image keys in your keychain (once imported, they'll be labeled [ img ] ). You'll have to try the image keys one at a time.

"Decrypt" is a handy little extra that can encrypt or decrypt text through a number of common ciphers like Vignere, Enigma, ROT-X.

There's a little info on the original program here : http://crypt.bluegenics.com/

EDIT - I don't know what exactly the encrypted file extension will be, but they'll more than likely have the same icon next to them on your desktop as the keys do.

apparently we don't get any points for this either XD... but here's some simple cipher making techniques... plus I think it's really funny that the NSA website has a kids section...
