Troag Lee, that's awesome news. Thank you so very much for your spontaneous commitment! I am sure the Bergen omphalabyrinth, along with the other northern omphalabyrinths, will tie a central knot in our omphalos network, especially considering Bergen's long history as one of Scandinavia's most important trading places. Don't forget to note the times when you start and reach the key points of the labyrinth, so you parallel selves in other worlds can mirror your path as exactly as possible. I'm SO looking forward to the documentation of your labyrinth.

Troag Lee, if you are walking the labyrinth rather than driving it, can I make a suggestion that will make the outside of it a little smoother-looking (since Eli Hunt is picky about smoothness sometimes)? When you are doing the top-left side of the labyrinth, going along Nøstegaten, instead of turning along Komedieakken, keep going until Nøstegaten becomes Vestre Murallmenningen, then follow Vestre Murallmenningen until you can run directly across to the western edge of that really squiggly bit of Østre Murallmenningen (instead of following the squiggly bit's eastern edge). Then, if you can, don't actually follow the squiggles...try to just go along the eastern edge of those houses (the satellite image seems to show you can do this, but I don't know if I am interpreting it right) until you get to C. Sundts gate, then go down to Strandgaten and follow the rest of the map as shown.

You know, I could draw that out, but I'm feeling lazy Razz, so I hope what I wrote above makes sense to you Smile.

There's a chance we might have found someone to do the Umeå omphalabyrinth as well. *Hoppar högt i luften och jublar!*

And Troag Lee, if I were you, I'd ask Kai to send you a trackstick nevertheless. Wink

So, yeah. I'm pretty sure Theo is working with Zeus - God of the sky and thunder!

First try at the Bergen omphalabyrinth is a failure. Me and my gf barely got to the starting point, before we were completely soaked. Lightning, thunder and buckets and buckets of rain stopped us from walking the lab at all.

But maybe it's for the good...

We will give it another try later today (The weather couldn't possibly be worse), and the next time we want to be sure that we do it right:

Dreamerblue: Your modification of the design is good and doable, but it makes me wonder what way to walk the labyrinth. You describe it like we are to walk it inwards, but looking at the old Philly design by Jorge it clearly shows an "arrow-tip" at the labyrinths outer point, suggesting that it goes outwards.

I'm sure this is answered somewhere else, but I couldn't find it on the wiki so I thought I could just ask here. Again, thanks for the help. Let's pray to the ancient ones for better weather.

I don't think it matters whether you start at the center or at the exit. Looking at KMZ files from different teams around the world, it appears to me that both directions have been trieed and either way works.

When I asked Eli Hunt that question a while back, he basically said it didn't matter, but that he personally preferred to go from the outside it to tie the knot. Based on that, I've assumed outside-in behaviour for city labyrinths, but it doesn't have to be that way. Outside-in, inside-out, whatever you like; the important thing is we get them done Smile. Good luck on your next attempt...may it be a drier one Smile!
