The fact that the last bit anagrams to WILL, however, suggests that this could be a name: Will [middle name] [last name], perhaps?

Doesn't the plot seem massively like The Andromeda Strain? However, I believe the satellite crashed in Utah in the 2008 miniseries.

But the beginning of the plot is more or less the same:

Foreign object/unknown object/satellite falls in small town.

On the count of some idiots(teenagers, bounty hunters, hippies, junkies, etc.), the object is brought to the town.

Everyone dies, either dropping dead or commiting suicide.

A military team is sent in to retrieve the object...and also dies.

A team of super scientists is brought together to solve the problem(Most likely us in this case).

But...the breed?

A random...eye stone?

Obviously it starts to get off the beaten path at that point.

There was an ARG not long ago that was used to promote the new Andromeda Strain show (or movie? not sure) in this thread. Not to say that this isn't Andromeda Strain related and maybe a grassroots thing, just thought I'd point it out.
