no, I saw his dog and stuff, I just don't see how petting his dog made him get it on his hand.

he means that when he pet the dog, the stuff got on the dog

Well, I assume substance-0 is the oily crap that was in the brick tyler found. They live in the liquid? He is the first to die. Watch him slip...mentally? He's going insane. Watch him fall....and die, I assume.
