It's conceivable, yes. Not very likely, but I'm keeping it in mind.

Portland is so far from here, there's no such thing as a non-stop flight. Swell.

How has the schedule been in the past for these things? Is it conceivable to fly in absurdly early on the 17th without missing anything? Not that that's an option... it'll *only* be a SIX HOUR flight for me (that's if it were direct)...

it took me six hours to re-find this link

And it was well worth every second it took you to find it. Thanks for sharing it. Very Happy

That was hilarious! Will definitely make me think the next time I consider complaining about how long my iPod takes to sync. Wink

You know, the closest ARGFest to me ever was 1200 miles away. Just sayin.

New York or San Fran? I assumed San Fran, but I looked it up, and New York is closer? Is that right?

All in all, I've logged close to 35 hours in the air for my three fests, and have traveled 1349 miles (Boston), 1503 miles (San Fran) and 1290 miles (New York), as the crow flies. It's nowhere close to Aliendial though -- she's attended all seven ARGFests!

5 1/2 hours, $550. And unless we do SF or LA this is about the shortest I'm gonna get. Time to do the taxes and see how it looks. This summer is getting very complicated.

ARGfest will be all the way across town for me this year. That's, like, 5 whole miles. The trip is close to 20 whole minutes each way and I may even need to get a bus transfer, depending on what part of town it's in! The trip's so inconvenient, I may not go through with it! Razz

To everyone complaining: ARGfest bounces around locations so that everyone can get a fair shot at attending. To everyone who has attended a high number of ARGfests: you guys rock. I've found the time, energy, and money (mostly money) to only go to one (as well as one big Perplex City event) and really would have liked to go to more, but I have my own excuses (which I'm not going to complain about in a public forum.)

I'm afraid to go to ARGFest because, if I do attend, everyone's going to follow me around and analyze every single thing I do.

I'll have to go in disguise or under a pseudonym.

"Why yes, my name is..." *looks at name tag* "... Denise."

Actually, Orlando wins closest to me. I attended Orlando, New York, and Boston.

From Austin:
Las Vegas is 1370 miles.
Chicago is 1166 miles.
Orlando is 1156 miles. (and we've driven there and back two summers in a row! Bang Head)
New York City is 1750 miles.
Vancouver is 2520 miles.
Boston is 1963 miles.
San Francisco is 1756 miles.

Lest anyone think I'm complaining, I am not, because I know how much work goes into planning these things and there's no way I could do nearly as good a job as the local planners have done - so keep on keeping on, and I'll travel if I need to! Smile

I for one am THRILLED, honestly, that ARGfest is on the other coast from me this year, or there is NO WAY hubby would let me have this really long vacation otherwise!!!!

Looking so far like driving from Sac/North Bay Area is winning.

So ARGFest-o-Con official caravan anyone?

CA caravan? I'm in. Also carpooling is a good thing (that's more for us SF folks though).
