 		I've got a 4-step method to test for bouncing e-mail addresses.

step 1: list 2 known Level 5 e-mails, 1 guess for gmail, and 2 known bad e-mails (one for gmail, one for mailexpire) & 2 known good mailexpire e-mails

(I'm sending the same spam to whiam, and swiog, so that other level 5 Theo members will get the spam, and the 79843 one won't think it's suspicious. They'll think it's just spam.)

step 2: get gmail account to send "spam" from
"iam.notspam5 @ gmail.com"

step 3: create short spam encrypted message from http://www.spammimic.com/
My short message is "Bounce?"

step 4: Send message, and wait for bounces.

step 5: Remember that you can "sign up" for gmail, and gmail will tell you if the e-mail address is available.
It will let me register theoc79843, theo79843, and thea79843, but TheOp79843SPLATgmail.com is already taken.

step 6: ignore steps 1-4.

"standard anonymized transporter email format" Every self managed email account will be an anonymous one if you dont fill the account with your real life information...

[META]theOp79843SPLATgmail.com is in use??? I think that there is a very low probability that somebody out of this forum / game took that account...

Haven't they been "dead drops" as it is, or am I missing the definition of a "dead drop"? They're not planning to do a "The Sky Remains" sorta thing of burying the fifth ring in a forest somewhere, I hope...

Also, it sounds to me like the fifth ring's location is flexible enough to be anywhere. Since the Southeast has been completely left out of this and *almost* every other ARG, what do I gotta do to get in on this? Especially considering I've done *nothing* game related up to now... Very Happy

Well, 79843 is the zip code for Marfa, Texas. It's in West Texas, north of the Mexico border.

EDIT: Marfa is actually well-known as a major hub of contemporary art, with an active artists' community. Except for it being in the West Texas wasteland, I'd love to go there.

EDIT2: It does have a Prada boutique, though.

 		OK, but Marfa Texas seems to be just the place from where the email have been replied... is this ok?

Aside from the aliens, that place is just hard as hell to get to. Even if you start out in El Paso or Midland/Odessa (the two nearest airports), it's still about three hours to get to Marfa.

[META EDIT] PLEASE, DONT SEND THE RING TO ARGENTINA!!!, OR IT WILL END THE TRAVEL AT THE ARGENTINIAN DUTY OFFICE AS MY TRACKSTICK DID!!!... That will be a REAL life FIND THE LOST RING... but not a game... haha.
