Like em anyway at all, as long as there's no nuts...

clue then:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
when subtracting just take off relevant letters, eg rudolph - red = uolph

once you get to the wrong page read the clue (obviously) and if that doesn't help
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
try reading your answer out loud

even bigger hint
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
think of other words for smaller and see if you can apply them

synonyms

well, since the only thing on the page says "think smaller" "and not quite so literally", I don't have other words to subtract letters from.

Here is a list of synonyms for small: (although that's probably a literal translation) Will any of these words help me find the next page? (I don't really want to try every word)

atomic
subatomic
bantam, diminutive, lilliputian, midget, petite, tiny, flyspeck
bitty, bittie, teensy, teentsy, teeny, wee, weeny, weensy, teensy-weensy, teeny-weeny, itty-bitty, itsy-bitsy
dinky
dwarfish
elfin, elflike
gnomish
half-size
infinitesimal, minute
lesser
microscopic, microscopical
micro
miniature
minuscule, miniscule
olive-sized
pocket-size, pocket-sized, pocketable
puny, runty, shrimpy
slender, slim
smaller, littler
smallish
small-scale
undersize, undersized

This is like looking for a corner in a round room......come on, enough with the obscure clues. This is what I'm dealing with, "Here is your clue", me:"I don't get it", you "Read clue 2 again", me: "I don't get it", you: "Here is a clue that means nothing unless you already have the answer", me: "I don't get it", you "Read the clue above" ...... sorry, just frustrated with this.

Edit: I'll give anyone the answer to this when you get here. I was graciously given the answer, and it still makes no sense to me. Sorry for the rant above, some of us slow ppl (Me) need a little more to go on.

Sorry for your exasperation, I got it once I thought
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
shorter
instead of smaller.

In my experience it's better to try and lead people to the answer so they still have some joy of solving the puzzle themselves, rather than just "here you go". Just giving the answer out is like reading the last page of a Whodunnit. Just MHO.

If you have the answer and still don't get it did you try my second clue above? (sorry I know "Read clue 2 again"). You really will kick yourself/ slap your forehead/ cry when you see the logic for this one (twisted logic true). If it still isn't clear PM me and I promise I will explain clearly and without being obscure/cryptic/vague.

I actually liked this page the best out of the trail so far!

That doesn't help unless we say what to make shorter/smaller.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the answer, in the webaddress above, on "think" page

edited: changed clue from "previous answer" to current web address. Or I just should have said "CLOSE!"

Your brownies are ready.

Who is Bellaso? and what was stolen from him?

I am on the "he stole it from Bellaso" puzzle. I looked up Bellaso (google.com and Wikipedia). Referenced some old guy that invented some Crypo methods. Saw a name "Leon Battista Alberti", who from what I can tell added to Bellaso's work and published. Is that considered theft? Am I heading the right direction? If how the H3LL does that apply to this fkincug puzzle?

I got all the avatars names.
MercenaryMuffin + Lunsford ? vpisteve =

*No intersections
*No numbers to indicate a ROT option

I would like to hit Pancito over the head with a whiffle ball bat.
I have burned up a mouse wheel scrolling through threads, my index finger has a blister on it from burning up a mouse wheel. My eyes no longer focus properly, I think there is blood clot working its way through my brain and my coworkers think I am the fastest speed reader in the world (from burning up a mouse wheel looking for obscure avatars). Other than that I have to take my hat off to Pancito. This is one heck of a ride. Thanks Pancito.

Now back to work (solving puzzles) hehe!!!

I will do this for you if my brain embolism doesn't cause paralyses on one side of my body.

If the number is 0 for someones name, it is the first ROT (unchanged) on the list. Hope that helps.

I don't remember looking up anything for Bellaso, (or I have blocked it from my memory), most of the puzzles are solved the same way.

No help.

No help.

I looked up Bellaso. Found 2 names: Della Porta and Vigenere. Both were credited with Bellaso's work (on different sites). Tried different cipher methods: Autokey, substitution and ROT, using different keys. Nothing so far.
I know it is do able, you folks did it.

I will keep plugging away.

I am back for more help.

I have run LittleAlbatross thru vigenere cipher, with key kloo....and obviously that's not what to do with it.

Rumkin invented vigenere, right? I refused to translate the french at top, even tho Alisdair told me to do that.....I am still hating on Rivard Project for all of the french translating that had to be done, and I don't even want to bother with it. . . . so, tell me what to do with the giant bird, pls.

Good Job, Alisdair, I knew you would finish quickly after you found out that I was only 2 puzzles behind you Razz

edit: am i supposed to make a Caesar Box Cipher ? If so, what do I do with kloo avatar?

edit2: Done with that page, I am sure I will be back in a min for the next page tho.
