no offense, all's good, keep the wetpaint, don't take my word as official on anything, I don't speak for the community, I'm just a guy with opinions, *shares the rock*, now let's get out from that rock - the community needs you Wink

NickButler: Good idea about the thread. Renamed. (since really, the Comic-Con signs and D-9.com are the trailhead)
*hopes there's some kind of activity in-game soon*

That protesting video was AWESOME. It was so well-played out. "What do we want?" "Non-human rights!" "And when do we want it?" "Now!"

Razz Come on Georgie, give us something more to do.

For those of us still working through the thread to catch up (*points at self*)... would you so kind as to share a link to the video? Very Happy

I assume they're referring to the blog entry at http://www.mnuspreadslies.com/ which has a link to a video on YouTube.

Hey, instead of sitting around twirling our thumbs, shouldn't we be trying to decode this^ Laughing Seems like that'd be an obvious first step to me... And we have nothing better to do. I'll do my best, but I suck at codes. Anyone willing to give a hand and cover the complex stuff, like ROT.

(I also happen to be an ARG virgin. This is my first, I've been lurking for a while now, I'm really excited to get the ball rolling =D)

-SG

P.S. Sorry, not trying to come off as overbearing, I just think we're being too passive about this.

You don't sound overbearing, I think that's a good idea too - I forgot all about that string of text. I am not an expert at codes but I've got nothing to do either so I'll kick it around a bit. I'm not sure what kind of code uses numbers, letters, and symbols though. Maybe the symbols are punctuation or spacing between words or something?

I'm not sure it could be a message, since %%% appears simultaneously. No word has 3 letters in row (that I know of). Unless of course, its more complex than a simple 1=a 2=b code.

The %%% could translate into question marks or exclamation points. they don't necesarily have to be letters.
Just a thought.

True, but there still needs to be a common number/letter/or symbol to represent a space. Which there isn't. The closest would be J.

So, like I said, I think it would have to be more complicating then 1=a 2=b.

Could the end be a location? like 'at *zipcode*'. When I was a kid, we had 'palz', (penpals), and we'd sign off with our names and location, so that I was 'Suzi @ 93266'.

So, could that be a zipcode at the end there?

ETA: guess not, upon search got this:

http://www.capitolimpact.com/gw/zipcnty.asp?state=mi&stname=Michigan&stfips=&zip=49823

Closest locale is Lansing, MI

Hello everyone. I'm new here, though I have been lurking for a long time, waiting for the right place to jump in. I've been following this game from the start. I've registered at the various sites but haven't heard anything yet.

I've read this thread and haven't seen anyone address a couple things that stand out to me:

On MNU Spreads Lies, Sister Carrie, with the YT video, appears to be the only replier who shares their name with a literary character. Theodore Dreisler wrote Sister Carrie in 1900. In a nutshell, it's about an innocent-type girl who, in her search for the American Dream, is used by men; and then becomes a famous actress.

I also noticed that her reply to George in December 2007 is in non-human language and must be translated. Her other replies are in English. And as far as I've noticed, she is the only human with this distinction. Could there be something to this? Or is it simply an editing oversight by the blog creator?

I'm sorry if my observations are amateur. If you'll be patient with my newbiness, I'm a pretty quick learner. I may not be much help with deciphering code. But when it comes to literature, research, and logic...I'm your guy.

What about an email address? There'd be no need for spaces. That is, assuming the "@" isn't part of the code...My only problem is I can't think of any 5 digit email website...
