Rabbit Hole Via Mail! Hi there all! I got a Rabbit Hole in the mail the other day! I blogged about it with pics! I will try to figure out all the songs as well and post a list, in the meantime you can check it out here: http://arexistence.blogspot.com/2009/02/my-first-rabbit-hole.html
I am hoping this is not a repeat post, I searched around, but didn't see anything similar. The package was delivered by hand so I figure it is done by someone local... unless they are using the dead drop network!

looking forward to find out what the songs are.
is the cd one of MP3's or an audio cd? If they're MP3's, check for additional data - ID3 tags, possible sound modification, etc...

Yeah - quote away! Go wild! Sure, if you have a space I could stick the files, I would totally be cool with posting them!

You'll have to create an account to put up files, but mypawpads.com If it doesn't immediately okay them, let me know, so I can do my admin clearance thing.
And thanks. The whole reason I came back to unfiction was for a research paper on ARGs. Now I'm hooked again, but I should probably find a few good tidbits while I'm wracking my mind against horrific puzzles.

You've been sucking away my time since you posted as I try to figure out what those sashes are for in order to pinpoint who these people are.

If the audio hosting doesn't work out too well, I can highly recommend http://www.drop.io
And I agree; having something physical - tangible - is always a great way to start an ARG.

Music files are now live and available. I'm not sure what the bandwith is for this sucker, but it should be able to handle a few dozen ARG junkies.
And as for quotage: "We live in a complex universe, everyday stories are being woven into the fabric of the world, told through the lives that unfold. ARG's always appealed to my love of the mystery that underlies everything. That feeling of a story we can just barely see lingering in the crevices of the everyday world. A secret being told that only we are allowed access to, a secret that has the power to unite people from across the world to work together for a common goal. The idea that we could save a life, or the world and no one would ever even know. The idea of a game that interacts with our reality and alters it indelibly. The mystery is what draws us in and the adventure is what keeps us there."
I may not use the full block, I may wind up paraphrasing, but I can't think of a better way to say 'this is why these games are awesome'.

eta: ok now that I have all I can get in here can anybody get 07 and are we missing 1, 2, 12 or any others or was this how they were listed on the cd?
eta: re-read spider's blog, 10 tracks, we have them all but what is with the odd numbering?
eta: oh yeah, I suppose other people dont want to have to dig to find the files http://www.mypawpads.com/music/gallery/all/StarSpider

Woot Spider! Huzzah for physical trailheads.
So, looking at the songs, I'm having a hard time finding any correlation between the tracks.
Worth noting that White Discussion is a remix, not the original.
In Walking Contradiction, around the 0:35 second mark or so, it misses a beat, not sure if that's an artifact or a clue.
It's possible that these are clues that will be revealed later in the game?

When looking for info on that picture, the only thing I've come across is a passing similarity to the Russian Royal Family...but I can't find any exact matches:
