OMG THIS IS SO AWESOME.

I guess my last request was too vague--can someone invite me to the googledoc? dav.flamerockSPLATgmail.com

And Cineball--I'll burn a disc of all the James Mission videos in higher quality and not broken up like they are on Youtube as soon as I can (disc > compression and uploading) and give it to you at a future practice or at the Lost Ring Party.

In addition, I am eagerly hoping to help!

As far as i can help, i can :

- provide every videos i made in not-too-bad quality (not DVD but better than youtube). I may be able to retrieve the working files i used and so maybe create a DVD-quality version of my quick trailer (but only maybe)

- help with some little video editing (i have the skills but not the CPU power for large scale video editing)

- provide storage space (FTP) up to 10Go

- provide some copyright-free music (because there're mine). But may not be a style you like.

Khaos you are my hero. I don't know what anyone else's feelings are about it, but I think if I have any say (which I think I will) your music would fit wonderfully with the training vids, and if nothing else I'd love to put a song on my desynch mission if it's alright. I'm kind of infringing on some copyrights with my current song. I love it. Totally fits the feel of the multi verse and it's user generated!!!

Until you, it seems that i was the only one to appreciate my own creation Wink

This is such great news Smile I'm really intrigued to see the stuff from behind the scenes. Can we also speak to unagi and some of our language liasons to see about collecting content from other countries?

I got that covered-- I'm making a powerpoint of some of the city labyrinths, which will include some Google Earth views of them.

I definitely would like to include some animated flythrough action, so if you can translate that into Powerpoint - go for it! Very Happy

I'd like to take some time to remind everyone a few things.

First, as TheBruce pointed a few posts ago, keep in mind this is a BIG project, and that it needs be built from the ground up. Which means basic decisions on contents, THEN building menus around said content and content organization, etc. Listing resources and tools is interesting but shouldn't be the main focus just yet. And again as pointed by TheBruce, we need people with experience in that professional field. I happen to have such a contact around, but again one or two person (counting Cineball) is VERY LITTLE. So if you have friends with experience in this field, get in touch with them asap. This leads me to the next point. There also are a LOT of seats that need someone to join : translators, artists, the list is long.

Some of you have mentioned Powerpoint files from footage, fly-through data, etc. While the intent is good in all ways, keep in mind that we're going to try and aim at a multimedia/interactive DVD, not a data dump. Formats for this or that part of the DVD should, imho, not be discussed just now.

Again, hoping I don't sound too bossy. Just trying to make sure you guys' brilliant minds stay on track Smile

Or vice versa, I would hope Razz

And just for the sake of all of you not in on the googledoc, here's my musings:

Flamerock's Musings

DVD 1: The Tale of the Lost Ring
Main Feature: Some video way to tell the story, complete with trailers. Mostly Trailers, blog videos, live videos (getting codex pages, stealing rings, ect.) (we could even have actors portray parts that we don't otherwise have on video, like the Omphaputer stuff.)
Bonus Features: Any videos we don't use, perhaps?
Short Film: If we have room I have a cool idea for a montage of labyrinth-runners/running. Actually I could make it and give it to you, Cineball, to put on the final DVD.

DVD 2: The Search For the Lost Ring
Main Feature: Testimonials from the players + puppetmasters? More OOG videos. EDIT: OH We could put people's personal labyrinth videos here.
Bonus Features: Puppetmaster stuff like the PM auditions?
NOTE: Maybe this DVD doesn't really have a main feature, it just has a lot of short videos.

I'll be happy to act as liaison with people in Noriko's forum.

NOTICE: In lieu of the ending of the Lost Ring, work has begun once more on this. I expect I'll make a lot of NOTICEs like this, when we need a quick form of attention-getting.

Right now, I'm searching out people to do translations for videos. Many do, in fact, have translations, but many others do not. I also had this awesome idea, which was that we would have the video playing and after a moment the translator would be heard reading the translation (similar to how they do it in the UN). Ideally we'd have the translators themselves reading it, but if you'd rather not record yourself then that's fine. Anyway, we need people to go to for translations for:

*Diego: MAURO?
*Lucie: KHAOS
*Noriko: UNAGI?
*Mei Hui:
*Markus: CANZONETT?
*Larissa:
*Monica:

I believe one of my friends might be able to help with the Spanish translations, if her schedule is not too loaded. I'll get in touch with her ASAP.

Could do that, I guess.
