So is this game gonna get its own space? Considering the amount of updates that may come reading one thread for all of them isn't going to be fun or productive. Just asking.

The moderators will take care of it when the game has demonstrated that it needs its own forum. Large games can take time to reach that point, and some games, despite initial appearances, end up not requiring a devoted space.

Speaking of the scope of this game, I'm still assuming that at least part of the ARG is the contest to get access to the beta. Maybe even the whole thing is an elaborate contest.

At this point, I haven't heard anything about access to a beta test. There may not be any 'prize' at all. You may enjoy playing the ARG more if you follow it for the story and the game itself, rather than out of an expectation of a contest reward.

Typing NC28439A, the PEL# that comes up at the start of J. Capelli's 3rd of 3 injection films, into Google maps brings up a place in North Carolina called Fair Bluff!

EDIT: Also, has anyone else noticed the photo behind the main menu link when you access the characters' dossiers Question

If you're referring to the group photo of the seven men, yes, were given this a while back.

That's an interesting observation - 28439 is a zip code in NC. Have we seen other numbers in this format?

It's listed as a "PEL #", and appears not only in that video, but also on Capelli's "lab results" document in his folder. A little Google work turned up several possible meanings.

Permissible Exposure Limits, from OSHA. This is for work place health standards, so I'd guess that it does not apply to people being intentionally injected with a virus.

Primary Effusion Lymphoma - a form of cancer caused by infection of a strain of herpes virus, and often Epstein Barr.

Neither of these are clear connections in my mind, but seem more likely than zip codes, given that the PEL is NC28439A... the A messes it up.

Considering the ARG commenced with the release of the Gamepro ad, I think my assumption is more than probable. Gamepro advertised that the August issue would have "free beta codes inside." Instead they gave us the getawarjob trailhead and said that readers would have to win a beta code in a contest. I think it is reasonable to assume that this ARG is, at least in part, the contest.

And don't you worry, I'm enjoying the game more than enough.

I'd assume a PEL # is an imaginary identifying number. Maybe for the strain of virus injected or something. I'm sure our puppetmasteroverlords have a meaning for it, but I doubt it's important.

Capelli is the only one that has been given a PEL #. That presumably because he is the only one that has been given an injection yet.

The PEL # may refer to Permissible Exposure Limits. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permissible_Exposure_Limit

Capelli's PEL # as well as hi P.A. Subject # can be found on the letter below found in his file. I'm pretty sure the P.A. # refers to Project Abraham.

Just my $.02: Resistance 2 is set to launch in about 3-4 months. So it's a bit late in the game for beta testing... which isn't common for a big console release like this one anyway.

If there is any sort of "payoff" at the end, I'd imagine it'd be a free copy of the game. Which is pretty sweet, but certainly not the reason I'm playing along.

And considering the last 42 game promotion, for the Activision game Gun, had no "prize" at the end, I wouldn't be expecting anything.

There were some excellent live events. I'd be quite happy to meet Katee Sackhoff at an event, or even a post-game party. Perhaps not too likely.
