The first letters of the items in the shopping list on page 4 spell out "The Stranger." (See why I'm embarrassed that I overlooked your secret message?)

I was pretty sure you'd be first to spot it this time.

Re: the keys....the keys?
the key at bones, literally deals with keys

Shad0 wrote:
I think that Beth actually does like to collect keys -- in real life, no connection to the ARG

According to Beth's most recent blog entry, this last part is no longer true:

Beth Hommel wrote:
i got something weird in the mail the other day. the stamp wasn't even canceled. it was like someone just put it in my mailbox.

probably it's someone who thinks i know more than i'm saying, trying to scare me.

maybe i will put it in the mail to the next key that comes in. just to get it out of my hands. maybe ill take it apart and send a piece to everyone. i can't throw it away.

So if anyone would like to send Beth a key, now might be a good time.

Re: [ARG] "Who Killed Amanda Palmer?"
Updates!

New blog entry from Jack. He had another dream about Amanda, and woke up with The Stranger's picture next to him.

Jude speaks! He says Melody's little diary is a tissue of lies -- he and Amanda were in love, and she was going to move to New York to be with him.

New email from Jack, leading to a video of RJ talking about Amanda:

Jack Fox wrote:
Hey everybody. I had the opportunity recently to be around during the podcast recording for our new show On Air. Some of the stuff we actually got video of, which looks really good.

This is me between takes, asking RJ about Amanda with our camera guy shooting. Just to talk about her. I thought maybe this would be something you'd appreciate.

Thanks for listening.

Jack

RJ doesn't like Shiela much.

Finally, Laura has updated her blog, but it's another one of those links to an interesting site that (I think) is not directly related to the ARG.

New clue

I don't think this has been mentioned? New clue at Joie de Vivre Salon...

Olly Oxen Free
http://joiedevivresalon.com/6.html
("olly olly oxen free" is something kids say during Hide & Seek, when they can't find someone and want them to come out of hiding)

Anyone have an idea of what it could mean?

..Also, this page now says "Once there were nine of us. Now we number five..."
(I think that's new?)

I'm pretty sure that was there before. I'm positive it was there a day or two ago, and "olly oxen free" was not. I believe it's a reference to the nine muses.

Shad0--thanks! Just curious, how did you solve Olly Oxen Free? Is there a clue in the image itself, or did you just get there from the name? (children's rhymes)

It's in the image itself.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The strange symbols are actually pieces of letters. Try to picture them all oriented the same and overlapping. For example, the first letter is a C. The top of it is yellow, and the bottom of it is red. Imagine the red and yellow lines rotated to face the same direction -- with the line at the bottom -- and overlapping each other.

Edit: forgot spoiler tags. Whoops!

update

New stuff from Melody, Laura, and Beth. Only Melody's new blog entry appears to be directly related to WKAP.

the catchatiger is referring to "Have to Drive". Switch directions is the line right after that?

There been any activity on this one recently, seems like a while since anything's happened?

Status report

Monkeyman1138 wrote:

When Melody blogged about returning from London, she indicated that she wanted to get together with everyone else:

Melody Dean wrote:
Tomorrow I will be in New York. I want to bring us all together. Have dinner. No accusations.

We haven't heard how that went, or even whether it happened. We also saw a short exchange between her and Beth, in which Beth agreed to let Melody crash with her:

Beth wrote:
Oct 31 2008 8:35 PM

Where are you sleeping these days?

Melody wrote:
Nov 1 2008 4:36 AM

Funny timing. I was hoping if it's not too weird, I could crash with you? I'm home tomorrow.

Beth wrote:
Nov 1 2008 6:02 PM

Never too weird. I'll get the place ready for you. It's a bit of a mess... I'm a bit of a mess. You know.

We haven't heard anything further about that, either.

Some folks over at the Shadowbox who sent Beth keys have reported receiving packages from her in return. Photos of Amanda, with "I KNOW WHAT YOU DID" written on the reverse, cryptic stuff like that. Also, Beth herself has made a couple of appearances in the forum over there. Among other things, Beth reported that she had a chat with E (of Joie de Vivre Salon and Vermillion Lies) about it, and that E said, "Sometimes there are locks with no keys." After she repeated that enough times, a clever fellow named Edgar (who was also lucky enough to meet up with Beth in person in Atlanta) found http://joiedevivresalon.com/lockswithnokeys.html (NSFW).

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The bars-and-hexagons pattern at the top right is a code. Each column represents a letter of the alphabet (note that there are 26 of them) -- the hexagon identifies the specific letter. Reading from top to bottom, they spell out TNECONNIREMMURD, which is DRUMMER INNOCENT in reverse. (No YouTube video tagged either "drummerinnocent" or "innocentdrummer"; also no "drummerinnocent.html" or "innocentdrummer.html" on the Joie de Vivre Salon site.)
