[8/13/42] Logistics for Sunday 8-3-08 (Pasadena, CA 2 PM) How are the Pasadena folks going to work together? Check in here I figure we should probably try to figure out some logistics for Sunday: where people will meet up, how they're recognize each other, who will be available to run Google searches remotely while people are running around the city, etc.
There is a Soup Plantation a mile and a half from the location; I would suggest that as a reasonable meeting place. A variety of munchies for lunch, and they won't flip out if you have a red balloon at a table or something of the sort.
A quick note for those who are not from the area - Cal Tech is in your ballpark. I would not be surprised if it was one of the destinations if you end up doing a repeat of the Boston Drunkard's Walk.
Edit:.... which begs the question of how much speculation we should post, as the PMs are doubtlessly watching and can make adjustments if we start figuring out too much stuff ahead of time.
Edit II: If you *do* plan to be there, don't forget to check in on this thread, so everyone can wander in one vast herd from point to point.
Or, since we have zero confirms at this point, a not so vast herd

Twitter! It helped on the Drunkard's Walk when the first group got started while the rest watched the video.
And take some pictures for those of us left at home. Please.

This is all assuming we'll have enough people to form a group
Thus far I figured I'd wait to see who wants to participate, and then go from there. We should probably use this thread as a place to 'check-in'... stratagos, could you add a note to that effect in the subject?
And if I'm there, I'm already prepared to take lots of pics and video.

There's a Starbucks almost right next to our location (wi-fi access). If I can get my hands on a laptop, or if someone with a laptop decides to join the party, we'll be in good shape.

I'm thinking this is a write off at this point. I certainly wouldn't find it worthwhile to drive seven hours today for this. (Edit: if I was in SD)
Meta: I'm unsure if the PMs have realized how the number of ARGs has increased at a vastly greater rate than the number of players. If the storyline requires more in-person participation, they have to keep in mind that there are plenty of competing stories going on right now.

Ya, it looks that way. If a group had been getting together I'd have probably made the trip... time isn't an issue for me, and it would have been fun to run around on a hunt for an afternoon and then end with dinner and drinks. But I can't even get my SD friends to join me, so I guess I'm out.
meta: sorry PMs

Ah nuts, I was really looking forward to playing HQ to another group of drunken ARGers (well maybe not drunken but you get the point) Still 2 hours left if you have a change of heart...

Were you going to be available, Vapor?
No pressure - I'm pretty sure the PM isn't going to throw in the towel at this point because we couldn't get there and tell us we're screwed - but I don't think anyone in the area is available

You'd have been backing a lone highly caffeinated ARGer attempting to communicate to you through a borrowed laptop with an unreliable battery and a dvorak keyboard with half the letters rubbed off.
I imagine that would have been an entertaining thing to watch though... the twitchy guy in the back corner of the coffee shop frustratedly pecking away a few keys a minute on a flickering laptop while surrounded by a batch of cryptic messages and bizarre numerical codes.
In all seriousness though, I really did want to go. Just not alone, and under those conditions

I didn't think I would be able to help because I was camping this weekend. We decided to call it short because of the heat and lack of biting fish, though. I'll be here if anything goes down. Hopefully we at least get an update on 13lights.org or something.

13lights.org was updated. Looks like we're gonna get a second chance.
