Perhaps she's dead?

I was going to say something quite stupid, so I held out on it.

You never know, he could be a modest criminal.

Maybe we should send anashel an email via YouTube?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
And I are sorry about the headache =P

My thoughts are always in 1337.

Perhaps, perhaps.
The message over YouTube doesn't sound like a bad idea. Care to?

Where he is,
Any updates before the countdown ends,

Anythign else?

What happened to Mike and Adam, (if he's after E.P. he's probably after them too...)
and what is so important about polycystin?

His last sign in was one day ago, so the account is clearly active.
Good call. I hope we'll get a reply since 13 days, 2 hours, 17 minutes and some seconds is definitely a long-long time.

Polycystin.com.

The link to it comes from decoding the block of text.

New letter from Anashel!

Anashel via Youtube wrote:
Hi Gregoryn!

Don't worry for Eleanora. She is an extremely intelligent and resilient person. You will have the chance to meet her soon to see by yourself.

Sadly, for Mike it's another story.

You are a pretty cleaver group, it was quite a pleasure to see experimented player on this trail. There will be no way to solve the next set of puzzle until the countdown is completed.

I was delighted to see how well you completed this little appetizer and how good you were at gathering ... almost ... all clue and background information available.

Even if you have been beaten by some other player this time Wink, I am sure you will manage to do good when the real fun beginning.

Mes sincères salutation,
- Anashel

Metallica - The Call Of Ktulu (Studio Version)
Metallica - The Call Of Ktulu (When Hell Freezes Over)

Check out my profile for all the other songs:)

The Call of Ktulu is the title of an instrumental composition by the metal band Metallica, released on their second studio album, Ride the Lightning in 1984. It was inspired by the writings of H. P. Lovecraft, particularly The Call of Cthulhu. The Call of Ktulu was Metallica's second recorded instrumental, and first in which the entire band played together.

This is one of the few Metallica songs to have been largely written by lead guitarist Dave Mustaine and was originally entitled "When Hell Freezes Over." Late bassist Cliff Burton was a huge Lovecraft fan and it is likely he was responsible for the title change.

This goes some way toward explaining why the main arpeggios in this song are played note for note as chords in the Megadeth song, "Hangar 18". It was also used in the Megadeth song "When" from their album The World Needs A Hero.

The song is also notable for being the longest Metallica song as of the release of Ride the Lightning, with a length of nearly nine minutes (8:53 to be exact), and still remains their fourth longest studio recording (discounting the cover songs "Mercyful Fate" and "Tuesday's Gone" from the cover album Garage Inc.).

The song was re-arranged by Michael Kamen for Metallica's 1999 S&M project and won a Grammy for the best rock instrumental performance.

Trivia

* An uncredited MIDI soundalike version appeared in the 1993 computer game Doom on Episode 2, Map 2.
* The song is also spelt Ktulu due to the legend in Lovecraft's stories which say Cthulhu (the monster) is summoned when pronouncing/spelling its name correctly

Haha awesome reply!
Although, hey Greg, you do understand that.. Well, say E.P. is dead... Then that whole line about 'how you will meet her soon'..
... I'm sure it won't hurt too much!

I do wonder what exactly happened to Mike though. Quite frankly; he's probably dead.. The questions are: why, how, where, by who?
Another note: notice how Adam was not mentioned at all...

Nevertheless, as Anashel pointed out, there might still be some background information to find, so at least that will keep me busy for the next twelve days, and speaking of the countdown: I isolated the frame page and retrieved the target date:

frame wrote:

TargetDate = "08/17/2008 9:00 PM";

CountActive = true;
CountStepper = -1;
LeadingZero = true;
DisplayFormat = "%%D%% Days, %%H%% Hours, %%M%% Minutes, %%S%% Seconds.";
FinishMessage = "It is finally here!";

Lastly, for those who are interested in the Metallica song:

I also recommend the following video for those who want to get a better understanding of the H.P. Lovecraft 'feel' and R'lyeh:

For more about H.P. Lovecraft himself: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5.

I sent him another letter asking him just that, I'll post it as well as the reply as soon as he DOES reply.

Us: Yeah right mate... How about you sit back down...

Looking forward to the possible reply. Back to the research room!

Hah! My mind already imagined a scenario where we solve the entire thing before it's completely unveiled. Then he gets pissed off and Canada starts a continental war against America. Would make for an interesting game.

Considering how we seem to have a group of 'complex'-thinkers, I'm quite sure that in the end we might be the ones who explored the background story/-and (whole) story most excessively... So we'll probably end up solving puzzles that weren't supposed to be puzzles in the first place. (Quite an interesting thought right there).

However, a continental war between Canada and America doesn't sound too horrifying: I'm quite safe-and-sound in Europe so I'll just play the referee and make sure you all don't end up blowing up potential clues. Razz
