*gasp* Lucky!

Unfortunately, I've only been to Europe twice, soon to be thrice.

USA>Russia>Israel>USA.

I want to move to Europe, it seems to be a nicer place to live (less rednecks).

That was a really cool video, thanks for the link!

ETA: I was reading a plot summary of The Call of Cthulhu and I noticed that in the third section "The Madness from the Sea" there is mention of both Sydney, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand.

After the Alert attacked without provocation, the crew of the Emma fought back and, though losing their own ship, managed to board the opposing ship and kill all their attackers.

Also, I have never read this story before so forgive me if this is obvious to everyone else but I am guessing that this artifact that Adam was studying may be a statue of Cthulhu. If nothing else, I will have some interesting reading to do while waiting for the countdown.

Great find Jain. "The Madness from the Sea" is a definite must read. Heck, it even has coordinates!

The article went on to say that the survivors encountered an island the next day, in the vicinity of 47° 9' S, 126° 43' W, even though there are no charted islands in that area.

Seems to be in the 'neighbourhood':

When Johansen's widow gives Thurston a manuscript written in English that her husband left behind, the narrator learns of the crew's discovery of the uncharted island which is described as "a coast-line of mingled mud, ooze, and weedy Cyclopean masonry which can be nothing less the tangible substance of earth's supreme terror — the nightmare corpse-city of R'lyeh."[22] Exploring the risen land, which is "abnormal, non-Euclidian, and loathsomely redolent of spheres and dimensions apart from ours",[23] the sailors manage to open a "monstrously carven portal"

As for the artifact; someone proposed it to be an item from R'lyeh, and Nan Madol also came to mind. After seeing the Ryleh movie, and reading more of it (such as this article), the 'statue of Cthulhu' sounds extremely plausible if the core of all this is indeed R'lyeh.

8 days, 0 hours, 48 minutes and some seconds...
Too long!

I might as well do a quick overview on the last few pages and add to that when necessary.

Only 7 days left before the countdowns end!!! For those of you who haven't completed phase 1, there is still some time left.

It is also a great opportunity to tell friends and co-worker about the ongoing Episode 2! Bring them to the game and help them solved the first puzzle! The more you have help, the easier you will manage to complete part 2!

Win.

Hmm-mm, me-myself-&I have kept ourselves busy.

The Futhark Website changed its counter; it was replaced with the following text:

Quote:

System Starting
ETA : August 17th, 2008 - 9:00 PM EST

Loading Database Server...
CONFIG.TXT loaded.
hdb: ST36422A, RAID5 DISK drive
autodetecting RAID arrays
pty: 256 Unix03 ptys configured
TCP: Hash tables configured
Checking 'htl' instruction... OK
Calibrating delay loop.
Application Server Started.

I'll be ready when the countdown ends... Hopefully... 9PM is 3AM my time. Bah.

It's definitely another Blowfish code.
AdamW that has to be E.P.'s mentor.

We'll need to find a key again.
Also going to check the IP.

Edit: the IP leads to http://74.208.29.147/
Document not found.

Time for a bit of googling and who-is tools.

Edit: Not too much of interest off Google. Just an overview of websites registered to that IP.

Yeah I was just going through the old summaries and the whole blowfish thing hit me. Ugh, the online blowfish tool hates me. Futhark doesn't seem to work as a key anymore.

The IP... I was checking that before, it seems odd. It doesn't seem to match up with anything IG - the closest I've gotten is perfora.net. The 404 is completely different to the one on polycystin.com as well.

Maybe it has something to do with the code?

I tried several keys including Uthark, Futhark, Eleanora, Plante and Polycystin, Ctuhulu, R'lyeh... I think we'll need to hold on for a clue in order to know where to look.

As for the IP adres being a code... I'm not sure. I tried them as google coordinates (74.208, 29.147) and ended up somewhere in the middle of the ocean between Russia and Greenland. Variations led to Czech Republic and India... Nice trip around the world.

Ugh... I hate Blowfish. Can't think of anything to add, really. Nothing new in the source, tried a whole bunch of words like "Yellow", "Curtain", the IP, AdamW etc as keys but nothing worked. Rather demoralising really.

The only thing I have are better links for your sig drejl - [1] [2]. These will go directly to the individual posts. I want do something useful, at least Smile

At least it's 'some' news. Silence for seven more days would have been true torture.

No clue how you did those links, but thanks a lot! Very Happy
