I own the book

Chapter 29 starts with this.....

"Simply because they change and hide their names, do not give their right age, and by their own admission go about without allowing themselves to be recognized, there is no logic that can deny that they necessarily must exist"
--"Heinrich Neuhaus, Pia et ultimissima admonestatio de Fratribus Roseae-Crucis, nimirum : an sint? quales sint? unde nomen illud sibi asciverint. Danzig, Schmidlin, 1618, French ed. 1623, p.5

this exactly how it appears in book.

I don't think that's a direct translation - it's the bit which comes before it, which Heinrich then comments on in Latin.

I ran it through an online translator and patched up the bits that didn't go through with my dictionary, and came up with this:
Quote:
An honest and extreme warning about the Rosicrucian Brotherhood, of course : or is it? what kind is it? whence was that name ascribed to them?

So any opinions on my JIRED idea?

I'm going to email them and see if they know of Elanor or Mike.

Edit: Also we need to SOMEHOW Contact Beatrix Gray.

Edit 2: Looked up both Beatrix and Beatrice Gray/Grey on FB and got nothing.

Was one Beatrice Gray from Vancouver but her profile was private and she didn't fit the Art Historian type.

I sent her a message on her youtube account last night shortly after she posted her message on the 'Pantheon' video. Made reference to Khnopff, Adam etc.. also asked if she had some friends at uni who knew about Western Blot Analysis, because I got really tired of trawling through Blot images..

She hasn';t logged back into her account since she posted the message on youtube... I'll post if I get a response.

On first glance the Jired site looks OOG but after clicking around a while I noticed there is not much information there and most of the links don't work - Sitemap, Legal, Help, Sign In, etc and there are no links to their partners, only logos. So that's odd. The 2005 thing does stick out like a sore thumb but I guess it couldn't hurt to shoot off an email and see.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, it just LOOKS ARGish when you first check it out but then the date of creation is like hmmm.

PERHAPS it was going to be used a few yrs ago for another ARG? Perhaps it was an actual site/company that went defunct and they've been given permission to use it?

I shot off an email in anycase, will post any responses or w/e.

And nice one Tex keep us informed buddy.

Edit: Any chance the blot pic could be stegged? It does say "Encoded frequency" below the photo.

The "encoded frequency" refers to where the blot is on the strip, I'm pretty sure...

Well researching western blots, they have scales that are measured in kda, or K for short. And below the picture in the unlock box is "000 K". So i'm guessing where the arrow is pointing is a specific number of K on the western blot scale. However i have yet to find any kind of reference to match up the picture with, so I'd thought i'd share to see if anyone else would have some luck with it.

I came to the same conclusion as scotty. There is no way to tell the mass of the band indicated in the Western blot photo. I believe (I'm a chemist not a biologist) that you would run a mixture of size standards in another lane of the gel and compare the known positions of the bands of known mass to the band of interest to determine its mass. However, this does nothing to solve the puzzle since we don't have that info Smile

Alternatively, we could perhaps google some masses for Western blogs in polycystin experiments and try those??

After much typing of numbers, got the solution to the western blot analysis puzzle:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
enter 132 K into the unlock box

However it yields the " UNLOCKED! -- Decryption Service still loading. Unable to proceed further, please try again later" like the first solved puzzle...at least we have two down! one more to go.

Whaaaa I have so much to catch up on!!!! ;_;

Can't believe I missed all of this!
Great work though everyone!

Ah... also, just to point it out (I think Leyton pointed it out)... I am one of the Netsurfers E.P. refers to on page 3 of the letter: Jl-red.

Although this may seem trout; what puzzle is still left?

The last puzzle left is the one that says:
Quote:
The artifact is the key Eleanora. Contact B.G.
Art Historian of the XIX century. Demande lui de t'aider à rechercher les travaux de Khnopff.

and has this below it

Quote:

And of course and unlock box which the answer i'm guessing has something to do with Khnopff.

So basically the only puzzle wherefor some contact (B.G.) may be necessary to solve is left.... Guess I'll jump on that.

Meanwhile, I'll do a quick translation on the French 3-Part Letter. (Edit2: managed to chain down my sister to help out: she's a lot better at French than I am.

Edit: On another note, anyone else feel like doing an overview on this part? I won't have any decent time till Thursday. Greg, that also means I'd enjoy a co-op on the Overviews Smile

Edit3: Sister translated the letters as best as she could. I'll do a summary on it. Either by voice or in text.

Ah shoot you're JL-Red? Damn I thought I had a decent trail! LOL

Edit: Does somebody want to collude all these overviews into a Wiki?

Edit 2: Also I'm wondering if maybe we've solved this way too quickly for the PM? Hence the decryption service still loading...
