I believe there has to be significance there...

'Who will release me'

Got to be a clue of some sort.

Guys, wow Trout all over the place!

Anyway, looks like the official English title of the painting is Who Shall Deliver Me, and that it's named after and inspired by an English poem of the same name by Christina Rossetti - http://www.victorianweb.org/authors/crossetti/bearmyself.html Apparently this poem inspired a lot of Khnopff's works.

The German translation for the title appears to follow Luther's 1545 translation of the Bible Romans 7:24. It is most famous for being used as the basis for Bach's Cantata 48 "Ich elender Mensch, wer wird mich erlösen? (I wretched man, who will deliver me?)", a rather fruity description of which can be read here - best if read in the voice of Stephen Fry or James May (nothing here suggests sublimeness). It's the top Google hit for "wer wird mich erlösen" at any rate.

In German:
Quote:

From the King James:
Quote:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

It seems rather odd that the solution would be the German title rather than the title in English, which Google is showing as equally, if not more commonly used. The Bible/Bach connection feels kind of wrong though - it doesn't really match up with anything else so far Confused

Edit: I'd laugh if all along the justification for the German is "Because it was on Wikipedia in German" Very Happy

There are no trouts anywhere?

Maybe a lot of recollection throughout posts and rediscussion but not much 'trouting'?

Indeed. Trouts are when you state information, and say how you figure nobody's discovered it yet.

Still, "trout" sounds far better than "not reading the bloody thread" Razz

LMAO We haven't trouted....

All we've been doing is discussing it with the knowledge we're already talking about it. We're keeping ourselves upto speed or backtracking on a few things.

We're not talking about it as if we believe we're the first to post it. That's trouting Razz

But I digress. Back on topic.

Okay Where is it confirmed that Beaxtrix Gray was Adams N.Z Colleague?

Good point. Re-watched/listened to the 001 feed and then read the letter again.

Correct: B.G. was someone Adam worked with at University (Montreal?)... The colleague Adam met in N.Z. is referred to as a male in the letter. Thus, it seems Mike, E.P., B.G. and Adam all worked/studied at the same Uni... And my guess is that Adam worked on Khnopff with B.G. (hence the reference to B.G. to crack the clue)... So what brings an Archeologist and an Art Historian together concerning Khnopff: where do the two meet?...

Nevertheless, all pure spec.
I need to look at this when I'm neither falling asleep or waking up.

Eleanor Plante.

Adam "W"

Mike ???

I've been searching for "AdamW" on Facebook, but to no avail.

The answer to Episode 1 seems to be the name of a person who is involved with the Illuminati (a secret society): Adam Weishaupt.

Nice Tex! And damn Drejl! Sorry bud, completely missed that.

So... Adam's involved in a Secret Society?

Also. I believe I've found Eleanor's Facebook profile.

Search "Eleanora Plante" - Compared to the 001 vid feed, she looks like the same woman. Only problem is the profile's private and she has no friends.

Adam Weishaupt is an actual person though...

Aww, there goes my theory that it's Adam West Very Happy

"Beaxtrix" appears to be a fairly common European alternate spelling. Not sure what to make of it - the XX thing is kind of interesting though. Apparently Khnopff was involved in a group called "Les XX". He also has ties to the Rosicrucians:

Khnopff's Wikipedia Entry wrote:
In 1883, he was one of the founding members of the group Le Groupe des XX. Khnopff exhibited regularly at the annual "Salon" organised by Les XX. In 1885 he met the French novelist Joséphin Péladan the future grandmaster of the Rosicrucian "Ordre de la Rose + Croix". Péladan asked Khnopff to design the cover for his new book "Le Vice supręme".

Illuminati fits in nicely with the whole Thule Gesellshaft>Hollow Earth>Lost World>R'lyeh> conspiracy or the modern Bilderberg Group if you like.

Might also explain why the whole Khnopff code was in German: Khnopff is German and so is Weishaupt - Therefore it may as well been a hint.

Yeah, I was getting a little headstrong when I realized it was conspiracy based.

Gregory and me were discussing who was the more of a conspiracy theorist last night haha

Wait, I thought Khnopff was Belgian? It said on wikipedia that his family is from Austria and Portugal though - so do you mean that the name itself is a German one? Sorry, my German is really shitty so I have no idea.
