[City Labyrinth] Tokyo and Kyoto

Although we know Tokyo is not in the current omphcity list, we Japanese believe a city-sized labyrinth will be necessary also in Tokyo. I wrote so to Eli, and he gave me a very positive reply.

I made three temporary labyrinth designs.
#1 http://tinyurl.com/6b5v3s C=5 S=11.0 K=9.17
#2 http://tinyurl.com/6evdd7 C=6 S=9.13 K=9.13
#3 http://tinyurl.com/5yuph6 C=5 S=83.2 K=69.3

If #3 is proved to be too big to run, the 3- or 4-circuit part of #3 can be run.
This design is somewhat historical -- since 1927 Tokyo has built ringroads, but they're still disconnected under construction, and not concentric, like the following: http://tinyurl.com/5jse5d
So I reorganized them like #3.

Unagi, this is phantastic. I hope that you'll be able to do #3, it certainly looks very, very impressive. Compliments on your designs!

Otherwise, #1 is my favourite.

Thank you, Canzonett! We haven't organized a city-labyrinth team yet; we haven't decided anything, for example, whether we should run by foot or by car. #3 is very long and difficult, and the possibility to run it is low, but this design is my favorite and wanted somebody to see it Smile

Well, at that time Tokyo was not on the list. We are planning to build one in Tokyo, although I live far away from Tokyo and Kyoto.

O, yes, you are right. Sometimes it would be helpful to look at the date a post was made. Embarassed

(And...from the view of a German player you do not live that far away from Tokyo and Kyoto Wink)

rimuse, QED and Huma finished building Tokyo labyrinth this afternoon!
The design: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=106946080451045056377.0004533af25790b3ffa26
The result: http://imagepot.net/view/121768042006.jpg
They started at two o'clock, and it took four hours and 18 minutes.
The route was 11 km, so I think they walked in this hot weather.
Huma say rimuse will show photos later.

EDIT: the design was slightly modified before running. Newer one:

Good work! I love the dedication of these teams that keep at these labyrinths for hours and hours...and I thought 2 hours in a car was a long time, heh Smile. Obviously there are agonothetai out there made of stronger stuff than I Smile.
