These videos are... amazing. I haven't seen the muppets since I was maybe ten, and seeing them with an adult mind really makes them a hell of a lot funnier Smile I really hope something comes of this.

Sad you lucky people, I love the muppets!! But muppets.com is off limits to the UK for some odd reason.

Like most broadcasts from studios it can only be viewed in the USA. sO MUCH FOR INSTANT COMMUNICATIONS Sad

If I weren't so paranoid about lawsuits from Disney, I would try to extract them and post them somewhere for you.

Foily!

Its not worth the risk. I have already sent Disney an appropiate e-mail. Not that they made that easy, the address is well hidden. Guess they dont like critics. Sorry for the off topic rant Mad

I really really hope this isn't a quick tie-in/advertisement for the Studio DC Almost Live show.

That looks pretty terrible

But on the other hand, it would be the easiest way for them to introduce the Muppets to a younger generation that has never seen them before. Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers are the best thing since sliced bread, according to tween america these days.

so maybe it's just a launching pad to get things going again for a New Muppet Show.

I read about a New Show being in the works about a year ago. when all the hoopla started circulating about the Dark Crystal remake, and the Fraggle Rock full length feature film. Well as of now, the Fraggle Rock flick is still on but the Dark Crystal flick has been canned. Boohoo!!!

Either way, anything Muppets is awesome in my book!!!!!!
Bring it on.
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

It was pretty terrible. This was definitely a Disney Channel show with Muppets, not a Muppet Show with Disney stars. If the muppets hadn't been so damn fantastic in it, I'd have turned it off after a few minutes.

Although there's always talk of a new Muppet Show, there aren't yet any actual plans to make one. Though as mentioned earlier in the thread, a new Muppet Movie is being worked on. The intention is to make it more like the original movies, so it could be pretty sweet Smile And maybe if it does well (i.e. earns Disney tons of money) we'll actually get a new weekly series!

The Dark Crystal movie is actually supposed to be a sequel, set hundreds of years in the future. If they had tried to remake the original I'd have personally hunted down everyone involved, drained them of their vital essence, and then stabbed them through the heart with a crystal shard.

Has it been confirmed that this was canceled?! I heard that was only a rumor. If it was... @#$%^#%$@^#&@!!!!!!!!

[off topic]It gets worse. I read an article in TV Guide today that said that the Bert and Ernie muppets on Sesame Street are being replaced by stop motion claymation versions. http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TV-Show-Blog/Tv-Previews/Jack-Black-Sesame/800044680

I did a little digging and found that 5 minute segments are planned for the 39th season. Nowhere does it say that the muppets will be shelved, though. It has been a long time since B&E got a whole lot of air time since more marketable characters were introduced.[/off topic]

^^^^ That's terrible!!!!

I can't believe that they would do that.

Why wouldn't they just cut out the segment rather than change it entirely?

I'm not happy about this.

It's sad that newer generations will not know the unconditional love of a rubber duckie.

FOR the record, evey other article I have seen has stated how this isn't meant to replace all E&B sketches..... and it was started originally to be a companion show outside the USA. It will just be a specific sketch, like "elmo's world"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdnRH4k14Lc

http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Bert_and_Ernie%27s_Great_Adventures

On a side note, i HATE what they did to the twiddle bugs.... AND, wtf is up with making "big bird's song" elmo's theme song? I know neither one of these is new, but it feels like a good time to complain.
