The Beijing Chapter
Keeping all the videos in order

August 17:

James looks at places for their labyrinth and shows where they'll be filming: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epluJ0lCRsI

August 18:

Kai records everyone arriving...except Alex/Ariadne: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgpi3SuJQI8

James surprises Markus outside their hotel and he reveals he's there to help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoelMv4VZ1U

August 19:

We're introduced to the other team members who work behind the scenes, Edwin (the camera guy), Jane (who met Kai at Foo Camp) and Julie (who organizes things): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCyFKM1ThPg

The team members train for Ariadne's Dance, using Canzonett's instructions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-Z1QNP0DfE

The athletes walk the omphalabyrinth on the Olympic green (posted by Kai on the 23rd): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_flneHffguQ

Ariadne/Alex arrives! Hugs, group hugs, and official Olympic cheers ensue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98WorBzLoZI

The whole team join up with Edwin Moses to welcome the Multiverse Olympic teams and cheer them on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrWZSU7rDmI

August 20:

Larissa approaches Monica to ask for her help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxdq9swovxo

(Video is in Spanish but from what I gather...) Monica, Larissa and Diego discuss how to help Renata, and realize that the fake de-synchronization ritual created by the Couberteam to fool TheO could help Renata gain TheO's trust, so they call Markus over to join in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-FvYolEXB0

Mei Hui comes back to the hotel and catches Markus, Monica, James, Larissa and Diego performing the de-synchronization ritual (but Mei Hui doesn't know it's fake): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hvr0-2N8qRI

August 21

Monica and Diego find Larissa and James to tell them that Mei Hui spotted them, and that they need to explain to her what's going on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3FYtYAB-8o

Diego, Larissa, Monica and James explain to Mei Hui that the document and ritual were created by the Couberteam, and they need a new plan to help Renata gain TheO's trust: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtwSaiON3ic

Edwin Moses posts messages of support for Team London, Team Tokyo (with Noriko), Team Wellington, Team San Francisco, and Team Salvador (with Larissa)

August 22

Diego says, "Hasta luego!" (not "Adios"): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pglbqxc3piE

The athletes introduce the Multiverse Olympics teams and read their rosters:
Mei Hui, Team London: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_o_7DiH1LIM

Ariadne/Alex, Team Wellington: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyEtaKps11Q

(Half in Chinese, half in English) Mei Hui says a really thoughtful goodbye to her friends and allies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRIUzrSWzSk

(Japanese) Noriko says goodbye (? I'll wait til Unagi comes in to tell us what's up Smile ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rG7tjqSsG8

Lucie says "aurevoir-": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Hpf8eWxCoM

August 23

The athletes perform Ariadne's dance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Y9CMEJdb8o

Nice. But why do you not use the timeline of the wiki?

Thanks for updating the Wiki! You beat me to it - it always takes me some minutes to look up the syntax again, and then again some minutes for finally deciding that I really MUST go and add that stuff to the Wiki ...

I wasn't the one to edit the wiki (unless you meant AUZ) Smile

For the order, I went off of the times that YouTube says they were posted (so this may be different since they're 12 hours ahead of me), and in the case of the Spanish-language video, it was posted out of order, so I put it where it goes according to the story.

I was referring to AUZ - by the time I had managed to log in to update the wiki, he had already linked all the videos.

But thank you as well for getting some structure into this, lhall!

Wow.. all these videos about the Couberteam document and the desync ritual we designed.. glad to see that there was finally some better in-game use of our efforts... a shame that it took so long to get used and lend some proof to our claims of what it was that we were working on.

One of my friends translated Diego's farewell video for me, so here's the transcript:

Quote:

Hi, here Diego. I have been thinking and if it's true that I don't know my age, technically I am 6 months old, since I was born that day in February, since I don't have memories that are not the memories in this world, since I woke up in the labyrinth up to this moment.

And in those six months, exceptional, wonderful things have happened, like when we stole the ring in the Esperanto society, the urban labyrinth, when we trained in the labyrinth in the forests of Palermo, in the planetarium.

But this week I have just passed, here, in Beijing, has been truly exceptional. I never thought that I could live things like this. Firstly, obviously meeting with everyone, was "out of this world", that's the best phrase for it. Meeting with people that share with you something completely different, that isn't shared every day. Waking up from the labyrinth wearing the tattoo, with amnesia, to touch them in flesh and bone is something that filled me with emotion and satisfaction. And everything that we did here in Beijing, the Lost Sport, competing, getting to know the Olympics, I...I feel, I feel a sensation that I don't want to forget all that happened in this week, or in these 6 months.

But I have a feeling that whether I remember or not, it's like when you have a dream, and you wake up, you may not remember the dream, but you keep the feeling of having woken up, feeling happy, maybe scared because you had a dream that changed you during the night.

And, well, I hope I can remember what happened over here with you, because it was really wonderful.

Uhm, Mauro, I can't do anything but thank you for all you did for us, Javier, uh Martin and those that helped from Spain, in "gizar", or whatever it's called, I don't remember how it's pronounced.

And from the other side, Laura, well you know who you all are, Laura, Canzonett, ehm, I hope I can contact you from my other world, I hope to return and find my family, I hope my son has not grown up too much and still remembers me.

And well, that's all. I hope I can see you all from over there, and if not, know that it has really been the greatest of honors to have known all of you and having lived all of this with you. Thank you.

I'll translate it later. Here's a transcription (so that I can translate it in the long way to Tokyo). To summarize, she is reminded of many things which happened this six months. Especially she mentions she has been surprised at what Japanese volunteers have done. She wants to take Kentaro, but respecting his decisions, she hopes he will go home four years later. She feels sad she will forget all, but she believes she will recover her memory. And she shows her appreciation.

By the way, will the wiki remain after Aug 24? I would like to complete some tasks.

Title:

(video explanation)
皆さんのお力なしでは、このミッションを成功させる事は不可能でした。
後は、家に帰るだけなんです...

Thanks for the translations - those done and those yet to be done!

I guess the "in 'gizar'" in Diego's speech should be "Tenchizard". Wink

Cool, thanks! Smile Best of luck at the MO!

As for the wiki, I'm sure it'll be up indefinitely; thebruce keeps them as archives, and it's neat to look at things people have worked on before!

It won't be leaving to any parallel world any time soon...
Yes I have absolutely no intention of taking it down Smile
