well, I tested out the site with my bf and I sent him a challenge. he signed up(which takes forever since you have to make a profile, take the photo tests and then the test 1) anyway, after he did that all, I got 10 points. so it is true, you get 10 points for getting someone to sign up.

Well, isn't the point of this entire game to recruit new people to reconsitute the DHARMA Initative? In this game, getting as many people as you can may be the main way to win.

And yeah, if it is the main way to win, i'd lose too...Sad

But, wouldn't the quality of those recruits, rather than the sheer number of those recruits be more advantageous to Dharma? Perhaps not, I don't know for sure if that would be the case because I have not been a Lost fan for long(I'm just now starting on the second season DVD set, and will be furiously ploughing through season 3 soon...), so I am in the dark about a lot of things Lost related, first simply because I did not care, now because I don't want to be spoiled on the awesome plot. Wink

Well, even DHARMA needs janitors. Perhaps they want to get some grunts through the "challenge a friend" thing.

And welcome to the LOST family. Enjoy the ride. It only gets better from here.

Wanna know a way to cheat on the "Challenge a Friend" feature?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
This is a totally unofficial thing that i just thought up. Create multiple profiles on a free email service (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, ect.)

Zero points and in Pandora group. I also challenged a friend how signed up and nothing. Not cool.

Funny note: While I was working on the puzzle I often listened to music... off Pandora.com. How did they know?

I used the cheat, have 0 points (didn't sign anyone up) and am in group Ganymede.

I'm screwed if signing up is the only way to gain points. I only have a few friends that are into Lost and those that are, aren't interested in playing ARGs. Crying or Very sad

To get the points the person you asked to join has to sign up also. It's linked from the e-mail they receive.

Quote:
In Greek mythology, Ganymede, or Ganymedes (Greek: Γανυμήδης, Ganymēdēs) is a divine hero whose homeland was the Troad. He was a Trojan prince, son of the eponymous Tros of Dardania, and of Callirrhoe. Ganymede was the most handsome among mortals, by reason of which he was abducted to serve as cupbearer to the gods and as Zeus' beloved. For the etymology of his name, Robert Graves' The Greek Myths offers ganyesthai + medea, "rejoicing in virility."

Quote:
In Greek mythology, Pandora (from Greek: Πανδώρα, "giver of all, all-endowed"[1]) was the first woman. According to the myth, Pandora opened a jar (pithos) in modern accounts referred to as "Pandora's box", releasing all the evils of mankind— greed, vanity, slander, envy, pining— leaving only Hope inside once she had closed it again.

Both from Greek Myth. Hmm. Interesting....

Which rules out the Jupiter's moons theory. Pandora isn't a moon orbiting Jupiter.

Question....

Obviously the group assignment has nothing to do with whether or not we cheated. However, I am wondering if it is divided by gender? I am female, and got Pandora. My son got Ganymeade.

Does this follow with any of you? Or for less congestion of the thread, maybe I should ask if it DOESN'T apply to any of you?

Except for the fact that when you register you have to supply a legitimate physical address. There is something about household limits in the rules isn't there?

I'm a female and got Ganymede so I guess that's not the way they are divided up.

hi, i'm new. i just registered because i can't find anyone else to discuss this crazy psycho dharmawantsyou with me!!

i didn't put a physical address when i registered. i have no idea what the cheats are, but i am in ganymede and female. i am starting to think the groups are kind of arbitrary.
