I tried to get to new tests. They aren't online now, but you're perhaps right: they will be online with these links, I suppose.

I'm also not really sure about these group things... Perhaps (don't hit me for repeating this hypothesis Smile), Pandora has some connections to cheating and (please still wait with hitting a little) if cheated player send an friend request, his friend will be stigmatized by the sins of his cheater-friend... (Now you can hit me, I'm not really sure about all these connections).

No flogging (one should never be flogged for submitting a theory!), but the theory doesn't hold. I recruited my son, who didn't do a cheated time, and he got a different group.

But somebody tested it without inviting friends over the internet. They sat next to each other on 2 computers(or 1, don't remember) and did the same answers. They got 2 different groups.

Does a bear shit in the woods?

Sorry, Dana Carvey moment =P

I doubt it, considering the nature of Hoodlum to disappoint as much as possible.

No cheating, no points, and I got Ganymede. I'm really looking forward to where this is going.

group

I am in Pandora and I did not use the cheat. My first score was 53 and I am up to 84 currently. I think the grouping might have more to do with the survey that you had to fill out. A friend of mine have almost identical answers for the survey and we are both in pandora. My girlfriend has the opposite answers from me and she is in ganymede. It's just a thought we had so it might be very wrong. I am just tossing it out there.

Can we stop mentioning stats? It's been proved by now that this is absolutely arbitrary.

Since no one seems to be able to read farther back than the first page, and the forum is beginning to smell badly of fish, I resubmit the following:

Quote:
In the true fashion of the Dharma Initiative, I just performed an experiment.

Hypothesis: Distribution of players into groups is based on the Eligibility Test.

Preocedure: I sent my neighbor an invitation, and sat with her as she registered. Then, during testing, she answered the exact answers to each of the questions that I did (I took notes when I took it, and have the list if you are that curious).

Results: She ended up being placed in Ganymeade, while I was put in Pandora with the same answers.

Conclusion: The players are NOT sorted based on their responses to the Eligibility Test.

Additionally, we have also ruled out location, gender, and cheating in previous data collections. As for the letter of first names, all three of us--my son, myself, and my neighbor--have the same letter for our first names. So we have ruled that out as well. I tend to believe this is nothing more than an alternating fill: one registers and is placed in Pandora, the next is placed in Ganymeade, etc, so that there is an even distribution.

Shocked

I highly recommend reading back posts on this topic before you reply. There are some members in here that get upset about "trout" posts. Wink
